Founded in 1966, the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC) is a public coeducational institution located in Baltimore County, Maryland. It is located in a suburban area with a campus size of 530 acres. University of Maryland Baltimore County is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
