  • The new exam dates for the UPESEAT 2020 examination will be announced on or before July 20, 2020.
  • July 4, 2020: The last date to register for the UPESEAT 2020 examination is extended until further notice. The exam that was to commence from July 8, 2020 is now postponed and the new dates will be announced when it becomes feasible to conduct an examination without causing any health concerns.

What is UPESEAT?

The full-form of UPESEAT is the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. It is an entrance test to apply for various engineering courses at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. It is a University level entrance test held by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun.

University of Petroleum & Energy Studies is one of the most prominent engineering colleges of Uttarakhand, which is located in Dehradun. The University has been extending its courses in areas such as Information Technology, Transportation, Public Policy, Design, Architecture, Business, and Legal Studies.

It offers 37 undergraduate courses in the Engineering Stream and is conducted once every year. Candidates are also selected based on the class 10th and 12th result and JEE Main score for Engineering Courses at UPES.

UPESEAT 2020 Eligibility

Candidate should check the UPESEAT 2020 Eligibility before applying for the examination.

Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1, 1999, will also be eligible for UPESEAT 2020.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed the intermediate or equivalent examination.

Subject & Percentage: A minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) in class 12th and minimum 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary Level (10th & 12th ) is required.

For JEE Main Pathway: Candidates should have obtained minimum 50% marks in 10th, 12th and a minimum 50% aggregate in PCM (Physics, Chemistry & mathematics) at Senior Secondary Level (12th Class).Also, the candidate must have a valid score of JEE Main if they wish to take admission based on JEE Main marks.

For Board Merit Pathway: Candidates should have minimum 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 80% aggregate in PCM at the senior secondary level (12th class) if they desire to take admission based on Board merit only.

UPESEAT 2020 Syllabus

The official website of UPES mentions that the Syllabus for UPESEAT 2020 is strictly based on the JEE Main syllabus, candidates are hereby informed to start their preparation for UPESEAT 2020 in accordance with the same. The syllabus will be based on the topics covered in Class XI and XII CBSE board which mainly concentrate on the topics covered in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and English.

UPESEAT 2020 Application Form

Once candidates have checked in their eligibility, the next step of the admission process would be to fill the Application Form of UPESEAT 2020. Filling of UPESEAT 2020 application form is to be done correctly and no false information must be mentioned in any form. Eligible candidates need to note that the availability of UPES 2020, as per previous year’s method, will be done in two platforms:

Online UPESEAT 2020 Application Form

Candidates need to fill the application form step by step as mentioned below, so for successfully filling and submitting their respective Online application form

  • The first step would be to register on the official website: www.upes.ac.in. Candidates can go in for “Registered User” if already registered or “Signup New user” if registering for the first time.
  • Fill in all relevant details like Personal Details, the program to be chosen, valid email id (on which a verification link will be sent. Candidates will have to verify their email id and “activate” their account on the official website.
  • Make the application fee payment and “Submit” the account.
  • Take a printout of the application form for future reference.

2. Offline OMR Sheet Based UPESEAT 2020 Application Form

  • Applicants will most likely achieve UPESEAT 2020 offline application form from the affirmation part of the University at its grounds in Dehradun.
  • Submission of offline application form will be in the form of OMR Sheet Form

Application Form Release Date: The availability of the UPESEAT 2020 application form will be announced on the official website. The deadline to submit the application form has been extended.

UPESEAT 2020 Admit Card

It is important to note that the availability of the admit card will be only in online mode on the official website. No other platform will be adopted by the university for the same if we are to follow the previous year’s process. To download the admit card, a candidate will have to enter his/her “Application Number” and “Date of Birth (DOB)”. UPESEAT 2020 Admit Card will have the date of examination, time of examination, venue of the examination, and other important instructions to be carried on the day of UPESEAT 2020.

The candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth to download their UPESEAT 2020 admit card.

Documents Required

The documents that a person must carry to the exam hall are given below. Students must carry it, and if anyone fails to carry it he or she will not be allowed inside the hall.

UPESEAT 2020 Exam Centres

Note: As UPES holds the privilege to lead UPESEAT II for the truants of UPESEAT Exam I (i.e., before the statement of results), the last legitimacy list as UPESEAT 2020 will be discharged in like manner for UPESEAT 2020 I and UPESEAT 2020 II.

  • Result Announcement: UPESEAT 2020 Results date will be announced later on by the UPES.

  • Availability: The exam results will be available on the official website.

UPESEAT 2020 Counselling

This is the final round of the admission process conducted by UPES. Only those candidates will be called in for Counseling of UPESEAT whose name will be mentioned in the then to be released merit list. Counseling will be done together for candidates who appeared either through the Exam Pathway or Non-Exam Pathway. The notification regarding the counseling will be notified on the official website of UPES, so candidates need to check the official website once the result for UPESEAT 2020 will be out.

  • Counselling Date: The counselling date of UPESEAT 2020 has not been declared yet by the UPES. 

  • Process: The Counselling process of UPESEAT 2020 will be centralized counselling based on the candidate's JEE Main, class XII board and UPES entrance exam scores.

No, there is no negative marking in the upes entrance paper, so you can tick all the questions if you know the answer or else you can make a guess, it doesn't matter.

Process for UPESEAT Online Test 2020. THE UPES Engineering Aptitude Test will be a CBT based test. Eligibility: Candidates with minimum 60% marks in class 10th and 12th and 12th PCM can seek admission to select UPES – B. Tech programs by taking the UPES Engineering Aptitude Test.

UPES is a state public-private university. meaning that it has a reservation quota for the Uttarakhand domicile students but doesn't follow the reservation quota(SC/ST/OBC) like any other govt universities.

Through entrance exam or board merit/JEE Main scores. 80% of the seats are reserved for those who are allotted on the basis of entrance examination and the remaining 20% will be through board merit or JEE Main scores. The eligibility criteria of UPESEAT 2018 should be checked by the candidates before filling the application form. The candidates should have secured at least 60% marks at Higher and Senior Secondary Level (10th and 12th). Should have scored minimum 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th). Non-Exam Pathway (up to 20% Seat Distribution) Board Merit: The candidates should have secured minimum 80% marks in 10th and 80% in 12th standard (or equivalent examination) in PCM. An aggregate to 80% should also have scored in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics at Senior Secondary Level (12th standard).
