What is UPESEAT?
UPESEAT represents University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test. It is a basic portal to take affirmations in different designing courses at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies. It is a University level passageway test led by the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun.
University of Petroleum & Energy Studies is one of the most prominent engineering colleges of Uttarakhand, which is located in Dehradun. The University has been extending its courses in areas like Information Technology, Transportation, Public Policy, Design, Architecture, Business, and Legal Studies.
It offers 37 undergraduate courses in the Engineering Stream to the aspiring candidates and is conducted once every year. Candidates are also selected on the basis of class 10th and 12th result and JEE Main score for Engineering courses at UPES.

Exam Mode: UPESEAT were always conducted in an online mode. But UPESEAT 2020 exam will be conducted in online mode and the offline mode which is a pen and paper based test will be conducted on May 13, 2020. The online mode which is a computer-based test will be conducted on 12th May 2018.

Candidate should check the following Eligibility Criteria strictly before applying for the UPESEAT 2020:
- Age Limit: Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 1st 1998, will also be eligible for UPESEAT 2020.
- Qualification: Candidates must have passed the intermediate or equivalent examination.
- Subject & Percentage: A minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (PCM) in class 12th is required.
- For JEE Main Aspirants: Candidates should have obtained minimum 60% marks in 10th, 12th, and 12th PCM and must have a valid score of JEE Main.

According to the official website of UPES clearly mentions that the Syllabus for UPESEAT is to be strictly based on JEE Main syllabus, candidates are hereby informed to stream their preparation for UPESEAT 2020 in accordance to the same. The syllabus will be based on the topics covered in Class XI and XII od CBSE board mainly concentrates on the topics covered in subjects like Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, English.

Once candidates have checked in their eligibility, the next step of the admission process would be to fill the Application Form of UPESEAT 2020. Filling of UPESEAT 2020 application form is to be done correctly and no false information must be mentioned in any form. Eligible candidates need to note that the availability of UPES 2020, as per previous year’s method, will be done in two platforms:
1. Online UPESEAT 2020 Application Form
Candidates need to fill the application from step by step as mentioned below, so for successfully filling and submitting their respective Online application form
- The first step would be to register on the official website: www.upes.ac.in. Candidates can go in for “Registered User” if already registered or “Signup New user” if registering for the first time.
- Fill in all relevant details like Personal Details, the program to be chosen, valid email id (on which a verification link will be sent. Candidates will have to verify their email id and “activate” their account on the official website.
- Make the application fee payment and “Submit” the account.
- Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
2. Offline OMR Sheet Based UPESEAT 2020 Application Form
- Applicants will most likely achieve UPESEAT 2020 offline application form from the affirmation part of the University at its grounds in Dehradun.
- Submission of offline application form will be in the form of OMR Sheet Form

Application Form Release Date: The availability of UPESEAT 2020 application form will be announced on the official website. The deadline to submit the application form was on May 8, 2020.
It is important to note that the availability of the admit card will be only in online mode on the official website. No other platform will be adopted by the university for the same if we are to follow the previous year’s process. In order to download the admit card, a candidate will have to enter his/her “Application Number” and “Date of Birth (DOB)”. UPESEAT 2020 Admit Card will have the date of examination, time of examination, venue of the examination, and other important instructions to be carried on the day of UPESEAT 2020.
- Admit Card Release Date: The admit cards for UPESEAT 2020 was released on May 10, 2020.
Credentials: The candidates have to enter their application number and date of birth in order to download their UPESEAT 2020 admit card.
The following documents are needed that a student will need to carry with himself/herself along with UPESEAT hall ticket. Only one out of the below Photo ID proofs is needed by the candidate at the time of appearing for the UPESEAT.

The result for UPESEAT 2020 will be declared once the examination has been conducted successfully. The university will be releasing three separate merit lists in the form of UPESEAT 2020 Results. UPES will publish the result on its official website. Candidates will be able to check their result by providing their “Application Number” and the Registered “Email ID” or “Mobile Number” (as given during the time of Application Form filling).
Note: As UPES holds the privilege to lead UPESEAT II for the truants of UPESEAT Exam I (i.e., before the statement of results), the last legitimacy list as UPESEAT 2020 will be discharged in like manner for UPESEAT 2020 I and UPESEAT 2020 II.
Result Announcement: UPESEAT 2020 Results will be announced on June 5, 2020.
- Availability: The exam results will be available on the official website.
This is the final round of the admission process conducted by UPES. Only those candidates will be called in for Counseling of UPESEAT whose name will be mentioned in the then to be released merit list. Counseling will be done together for candidates who appeared either through the Exam Pathway or Non-Exam Pathway. The notification regarding the counseling will be notified on the official website of UPES, so candidates need to check the official website once the result for UPESEAT 2020 will be out.
Counseling Date: The counseling of UPESEAT 2020 will commence from June 17, 2020.
Process: The Counselling process of UPESEAT 2020 will be centralized counseling based on the candidate's JEE Main, class XII board and UPES entrance exam scores.

A. No, there is no negative marking in the upes entrance paper, so you can tick all the questions if you know the answer or else you can make a guess, it doesn't matter.
Q. How can I get admission in UPES Dehradun?

Q. Is there any reservation in Upes?
A. Upes is a state public-private university. meaning that it has a reservation quota for the Uttarakhand domicile students but doesn't follow the reservation quota(SC/ST/OBC) like any other govt universities.
