Introduction to CUCET 2019

  • About: CUCET is a national level entrance exam to provide single window opportunity to students seeking admission into various Integrated/UG, PG & research programmes offered by the 14 Central Universities of India. 

  • The Central Universities of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kashmir, Kerala, Mahatma Gandhi University (Bihar), Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Punjab and South Bihar along with the Bengaluru Dr. B.R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) jointly participate in Central Universities Common Entrance Test (CUCET 2019).

  • Authority: The Central University of Rajasthan has the absolute right to conduct CUCET 2019 examination and to decide about admissions and allotment of seats.

  • Level: CUCET 2019 exam is a National Level Entrance Examination which will be conducted in 119 exam centres across India and in one centre in Nepal.

  • Courses: CUCET helps the candidates to seek admission into undergraduate, integrated, postgraduate and research programmes in various educational and professional fields in these 14 central universities.

CUCET 2019 Important Dates

  • Application Form: CUCET 2019 Application Form is available since 13th March 2019 and the registration process will end on 13th April 2019.

  • Admit Card: Candidates can download the CUCET 2019 admit card from 10th May 2019 onwards, from the CUCET official website.

  • Exam Date: The CUCET 2019 exam will be held on 25th May 2019 and 26th May 2019 at various exam centres all over India.

  • Result Date: According to the official notification, CUCET 2019 results will be released online on 21st June 2019, on the official website of CUCET.

  • Counselling: Each university conducts separate counselling for programmes offered by them. After the release of the results, respective Universities will declare their counselling and admission schedule.

CUCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Integrated & UG Courses: Candidates who have completed or pursuing class 10+2 level examination or equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized University or Board, are eligible to apply for Integrated and Undergraduate courses in CUCET 2019 exam. 

  • PG Courses: Candidates need to have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in order to be eligible to apply for postgraduate courses through CUCET 2019 examination.

  • Citizenship: Only candidates with Indian citizenship can apply for CUCET 2019.

CUCET 2019 Application Form

  • Application Form Availability: CUCET 2019 application form is available since 13th March 2019 on the official website and the last date to apply is 13th April 2019.

  • Documents: Before applying online for CUCET 2019 candidate is required to have scanned images of his/ her recent photograph and signature as per given specifications.

  • Photograph and Signature: Candidates need to upload the scanned images of their recent colour photograph taken on a white/light background. And, before scanning, the signature should be made on a white paper using a black ink pen.

  • Application and payment Mode: The aspiring candidates have to first register themselves on the website, after which they have to fill the online CUCET 2019 application form. The payment of the fee can be made through both online and offline mode.

  • Application Form Print-out: On successful submission of application form, candidate should take the print-out of the application form for all future references.

CUCET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Exam Mode: CUCET 2019 examination will be conducted in offline mode i.e. pen and paper-based (PBT) where students have to mark on the OMR sheets.

  • Paper Pattern: For all the programmes under CUCET 2019 except for some Integrated Programme/MBA/B.Voc./LLB/MCA or any other general Programme, the paper will be divided into 2 parts, Part A will consist of 25 MCQs and Part B will consist of 75 MCQs.

  • For some Integrated Programme/MBA/B.Voc./LLB/MCA or any other general Programme, the CUCET 2019 will have only one paper comprising of 100 MCQs covering English language, reasoning, data interpretations/numerical ability, general awareness and analytical skills.

  • Question paper pattern: Part A consists of English Language, Mathematical Aptitude, General Awareness and Analytical Skills whereas Part B will be based on Domain Knowledge.

  • Part B will have 3, 4 or 5 sections with 25 questions per section. A candidate is required to answer a set of any three sections (75 questions) relevant to the course he/she is applying for.

  • Marking Scheme: Candidates are awarded one mark for a correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer. There is no negative marking for the research programme.

CUCET 2019 Exam Centre

  • Exam Centres: CUCET 2019 will take place in 119 different centres across 22 states in India and in one centre in Nepal.

  • CUCET 2019 Centre Outside India: Kathmandu in Nepal is the only CUCET 2019 test centre outside of India.

  • Exam Centre Selection: At the time of filling the CUCET 2019 Application form, candidates will have the option to select two different states and cities. Candidates should select any two cities from the exam centre drop-down list based on candidates' convenience.

CUCET 2019 Admit Card

  • Admit card Availability: Candidates can download their CUCET Admit Card 2019 from 10th May 2019 from the official website.

  • Details Required: To download their CUCET 2019 Admit Card, candidates have to login by entering the necessary details like registration number and password.

  • ID Proof: Candidates need to carry a valid original photo ID proof along with the Admit Card to the CUCET 2019 exam centre. ID proof can be Adhar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, Driving License etc.

  • Mandatory: No candidates will be permitted to enter the examination hall without a valid Admit Card and original photo ID proof.

CUCET 2019 Syllabus

  • UG Syllabus: For CUCET 2019 UG, majority of the syllabus will be similar to the qualifying examination of 12th standard.

  • For part A of all the courses, syllabus will be general in nature and will be similar to aptitude paper of any other entrance exam.

  • PG Syllabus: For Domain Knowledge of Part B of CUCET 2019 PG, candidates have to prepare their respective subject specific syllabus.

  • Previous Year Paper: To get an overview of CUCET 2019 difficulty level, candidates are advised to go through the CUCET previous year question paper.

CUCET Results 2019

  • Answer Key: Candidates can check the CUCET 2019 answer key from the official website two days after the exam. If the candidates have any grievances with respect to the official answer keys, then the candidate can contact the CUCET helpdesk.

  • Result Availability: CUCET Results 2019 will be announced on 21st June 2019 on the official website of CUCET.

  • Required Details: To view the CUCET 2019 result, candidates should enter the Application Number and Password.

  • Scorecard: CUCET 2019 scorecard will contain the following information, candidate's name, roll number, marks obtained, rank in the merit list.

CUCET 2019 Counselling

  • Counselling: After the declaration of the CUCET 2019 results, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of the concerned university.

  • Then respective participating Universities will declare the counselling/admission schedule and merit list based on the weightage on CUCET 2019 and other criteria.

  • Counselling Mode: The CUCET 2019 counselling/allotment of seats will be done online.

CUCET 2019 Preparation Tips

  • Planning: Plan for your time during the exam in a smart and efficient manner. Assign adequate time for every one of the subjects. 

  • Previous Year Questions: Next, check the Previous year question papers of CUCET exam to understand the difficulty level and the type of the question asked in the exam topic wise to ease you in evaluating yourself later.

  • Keep Record: Keep a record of regular work, and ensure that there is improvement over yesterdays work done.

  • Mock Test: Practice the mock/ sample tests papers to self evaluate, regularly.

  • Time Division: Candidates should make a realistic and achievable timetable. Also, candidates should make sure that the topics they find will not be left undone.

  • Study Materials: Lots of study materials are available online and when in doubt, candidates can go through the CUCET 2019 reference books.

  • Priority: From the beginning, make note of the points which you find difficult and give more focus to those topics, and don't neglect any of the subjects.

  • Timetable: Create your own timetable which is convenient to your schedules and giving required amount of time for all the subjects to Follow Proper Time Table
  • Paper solving: Go through the previous year question paper and solve all the papers to get practised of facing exam and time pick up.
  • Among choices: Try to find correct answers among the choices after analysing questions by ignoring the other options present in the list.
  • Revision: Even though you are well prepared with the topics there is a chance of forgetting the topics so make the revision of topics often and try to make remember it in free time.
  • Preparation: Take mock test paper and solve it by yourself by setting time and learn how to maintain time for each question and how to analyse the questions.
  • Study materials: There are many study materials available for the CUCET 2018, also go through the reference books and get prepared well with the topics.

Individuals who wish to get enlisted for a PhD Degree through CUCET must fulfil either one of the following Eligibility Criteria as per the CUCET Board:

  • M.Phil degree.
  • Qualified: UGC/CSIR-JRF/NET or SLET (Equivalent to NET/JRF as per UGC norms) or a holder of Teacher Fellowship.
  • Teacher in a constituent/affiliated college/department of the university & research experience for at least two years.
  • Is an in-service candidate with three years’ experience and has master’s degree with at least 55% of marks (50% for SC/ST/PWD) in the relevant subjects.

Note: The eligibility criteria differ for each institute and candidates are advised to pick a campus which suits them, or they must ensure that they fulfil all the required eligibility criteria for the institute they are opting for.

No, you are not eligible to pursue a PhD degree from the Central University of Haryana.

In order to be eligible for PhD through CUCET, the candidate should hold an M.Phil of his own.

Admission to Central Universities through JEE Main or CUCET

CUCET is an exam for admissions to various Central Universities for multiple streams across India, while JEE Main provides chances for an individual to get accepted to all Engineering Institutes across India.
