What is KIITEE Exam?

KIIT University (Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology) Bhubaneshwar, Odisha is the conducting authority of KIITEE exam and it manages and administers KIITEE every year. KIIT University conducts KIITEE exam every academic year to provide admissions in various Undergraduate (UG)and Postgraduate(PG) programmes.

KIITEE is an online exam which means candidates have to take KIITEE as a computer-based test. KIITEE 2020 will be conducted from April 14, 2020  to April 23, 2020. Candidates can apply for KIITEE through KIITEE application form released on the official website. Nearly 1.5 lakh candidates appear for KIIT exam every year.

Candidates should be aware of KIITEE Exam Dates and other important dates. Some of the important details are mentioned in this section.

Application Form will be available on the official website of KIIT from November 16, 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form is on March 31, 2020. After registering successfully for the exam KIITEE Admit Card will be issued online for the candidates on April 4, 2020.

KIITEE Eligibility 2020

KIIT sets the eligibility criteria for KIITEE. The eligibility criteria are different for different courses. Candidates who want to apply for Kalinga Institute of Technology must meet the following eligibility criteria for KIITEE 2020:

KIITEE Eligibility for UG Courses

For B.Tech (4 years)/B.Tech & M.Tech (Dual Degree) Biotechnology (5 years)

Candidates who have qualified 10+2 in 2018/2019 or who are appearing in 2020 are only eligible to apply for B.Tech (4 years)/B.Tech & M.Tech (Dual Degree) (Biotechnology) of KIIT.

Candidates should have passed 10+2 and in addition, they also have a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Candidates should have born after July 1, 1999.

For B.Tech (Lateral Entry- 3 years)

Candidates should have passed a Diploma course in Engineering with at least 60% aggregate from a State Council of Technical Education of any state.

Candidates should have born after July 1, 1996 to apply for B.Tech Lateral Entry course.

For B.Tech in Architecture (5 years)

Candidate should have qualified 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% in aggregate of the whole 10+2 exam. Also, candidate should have qualified the NATA exam or JEE Main Paper-II.

For B.Sc Nursing (4 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English (PCBE) with at least 45% marks in aggregate.

Lower age limit of a candidate should be 17 years as on December 31, 2020 and the upper age limit should be 35 years as on December 31, 2020.

For B.A.LL.B/BBA LL.B/B.Sc LL.B (5 years)

Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with at least 45% marks aggregate. For B.Sc LL.B, candidates should have qualified 10+2 in Science stream with 45% marks.

Candidates who are not completed 21 years of age as on July 1, 2020 can apply.

For BBA (3 years)

candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in 10+2 having Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Economics/Statistics as one of the subjects. Candidates who are born on/after July 1, 1999 are eligible to apply for BBA under KIIT.

For BCA (3 years)

Candidates who have qualified 10+2 with Mathematics as a subject with at least 50% marks aggregate. Candidates who have born on/after July 1, 1999 can apply for BCA program under KIITEE.

For B.Des (Fashion/Textile) (4 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For Bachelor of Film & Television Production (3 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For Master of Mass Communication (5 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For B.Sc (Computer Science)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 with Mathematics as one of the subjects with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For B.A. (Economics Hons.) (3 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2/equivalent in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For B.A. (English Hons.) (3 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2/equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

For B.Com (3 years)

Candidates should have qualified 10+2 in any stream with Mathematics/Business Mathematics & Statistics as one of the subjects with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Also, applying candidate should also be born on/after July 1, 1999.

Note: Candidate who has passed IB Diploma from International Baccalaureate Organization, Geneva (Switzerland) can apply for any course where 10+2 is the eligibility qualification. Other criteria will remain applicable.

KIITEE Eligibility for PG Courses

For MCA (3 years)

Any candidate with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in graduation or equivalent having Maths either in 10+2 or graduation level as one of the subjects. Candidates who are born on/after July 1, 1996 are eligible to apply.

For MCA (Lateral Entry 2 years)

Candidate who has passed or appearing with a minimum of 50% aggregate in BCA, B.Sc (IT/Computer Science/IST/ITM) from a recognized University. Candidates who are born on/after July 1, 1996 are eligible to apply.

For M.Tech (2 years)

Candidate should have passed B.Tech or B.E. or any equivalent degree (AMIE, GRADE-IETE etc.) in respective branches of Engineering and Technology with a First Class MCA/First Class M.Sc in (Comp/IT/ETC).

GATE qualified candidates shall be preferred in the selection process. Candidates scoring more than 400 marks in GATE need not sit in the exam.

Course-wise eligibility for each specialization in M.Tech:

Electrical- Specialization in Power Electronics & Drives/Power Energy & System/Power System Engineering:

Computer Science & Engineering- Specialization in Engineering /Computer Science & Information Security/Data Analytics/Software Engineering:

Candidates who have qualified B.E./B.Tech with First Class in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics & Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation or First Class in MCA or First Class in M.Sc. Comp.Sc/IT are eligible to apply.

Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering- Specialization in VLSI Design & Embedded Systems/RF & Microwave:

Candidates should have qualified B.E./B.Tech with First Class in Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Electrical or First Class in M.Sc (Electronics).

Mechanical Engineering- Specialization in Specialization in Manufacturing Process & Systems/Thermal Engineering/Machine Design:

Candidates should have passed B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering with First Class.

Civil Engineering- Specialization in Construction Engineering & Management/StructuralEngineering/Geotechnical Engineering/Water Resources Engineering:

For M.Sc (Biotechnology/Applied Microbiology) (2 years)

Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in any branch of Science/Agriculture/Pharmacy/Veterinary/Engineering/Technology/Medicine (MBBS/MDS) with at least 55% marks aggregate.

Candidates born on or after July 1, 1996 are eligible to apply.

For M.Sc Nursing (2 years)

Candidate should be a registered nurse or registered midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council.

Minimum education qualification should be a degree in B.Sc Nursing/B.Sc Hons. Nursing/Post Basic Nursing with a 55% minimum aggregate (5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates). Candidates should have undergone any of the above courses from an institution recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

Minimum 1-year of experience after Basic B.Sc Nursing is required. Candidate should be medically fit.

For LL.M (1 year)

Candidates who have acquired a degree in B.A. LL.B/BBA LL.B/B.Sc. LL.B/B.L or equivalent from a recognized university and must have scored at least 55% aggregate marks.

For Master of Public Health (2 years)

Candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in any Health Science [MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BAMS/BNYS/BPT/B.Sc Nursing (Basic or Post Basic)/B.Pharm] discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.

For Master of Hospital Administration (2 years)

Candidates must have qualified Bachelor's Degree in MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS
BNYS/BPT/BSc Nursing (Basic or Post Basic)/BPharm/BSc in Allied Health Sciences/Bachelor's degree in Arts/Commerce/Science/Law from a recognized university with min. 50% marks in aggregate.

For Integrated M.Sc & Ph.D Programme (5years) (Applied Physics / Applied Chemistry / Mathematics and Data Sciences)

Candidates must have passed B.Sc./B.E./B.Tech. or an equivalent degree with at least 60% aggregate. Students possessing a Bachelor's degree with Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics as one of the main subjects or Engineering Graduates with a strong aptitude for the above areas are eligible to apply. Students who are in the final year of their Graduation may also apply.

For M.A. (Yoga Therapy) (2 years)

Applying candidates should be graduates in any stream.

For M.Sc (Computer Science) (2 years)

Applying candidates should have a B.Sc degree in Computer Science/IT/Mathematics/Electronics/Physics/Chemistry/BCA with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

For M.A. (Economics) (2 years)

Candidates must be Graduate or equivalent with one subject as Economics/Mathematics/Statistics with at least 50% marks.

M.A. in English (2 years)

Candidates who have passed Graduation or equivalent with one subject as English with 50% aggregate.

M.A. in Sociology (2 years)

M.Com (2 years)

KIITEE Eligibility for Research Programme

For Ph.D

Candidates having M.Tech/M.E/MCA/MBA or equivalent degree with 60% aggregate at least or an equivalent CGPA or M.Sc/M.A./M.Com/LL.M or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 55% marks aggregate or equivalent.


Syllabus for KIITEE differs for each of the courses. KIITEE syllabus is based on subjects ranging from higher secondary to graduation level. Before beginning preparation for the KIITEE 2020, applicants should go through the detailed KIITEE Syllabus to prepare for the exam in the best way possible. Exam Pattern 

KIITEE 2020 will be conducted through Online (Computer-based Test) as a pen-paper test is no more available as an option. KIITEE examination will be available only in English language. Test duration will be of 180 minutes (3 hours) for a total of 120 questions. KIITEE has an objective type question paper pattern. For each correct answer, the candidate is awarded (+4 marks) and or each incorrect answer (-1 marks) is deducted. No marks deduction for unattempted questions.

The examinee/ candidates have to freedom to move from one section to another without the restriction of any sectional completion. KIITEE examination pattern is explained in brief below:

  • Mode of Examination: KIITEE exam will be a computer-based online test.
  • Paper Medium: Medium of paper is English.
  • Paper Duration: Duration of paper is three hours only.
  • Total number of questions: It consists of 120 objective type questions. Each question is followed by four answer options, a candidate has to select only one correct option.
  • Marking Scheme: Four marks will be awarded for every correct response and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No mark deduction for unattempted questions. Total weightage of the paper is 480 marks.
  • No Sectional restriction: Candidates are allowed to move to other sections/windows of the questions without any restriction.


Aspirants seeking admission into KIIT University for UG and PG courses have to appear for the KIITEE examination. Before a candidate appears for the examination, everyone has to register themselves in the examination portal. After the registration is complete, the candidate can proceed with the application form fill up. Application form consists of several sections and each of the fields marked with an '*' has to be filled up.

KIITEE Admit Card 2020 will be available for download only after the submission of Application Form. Candidates can register for KIITEE from November 16, 2019, 2020 and last to date to register is March 31, 2020. They have to fill in various KIITEE Application Form Details and proofread it before submitting it. Then they can download the admit card once it is released.

Candidates can continue with KIITEE Application Form fill-up after they are done with the registration process. Before candidates proceed with the application process, they need to have certain documents in handy which will help them during the application process. The essential documents to be kept during the application form fill up includes:

  • Class 10th mark sheet.

How to apply for KIITEE 2020?

Candidate can fill out the application form once the KIITEE application form issue date is announced. Aspirants are eligible to apply only when they have completed the KIITEE registration successfully. KIITEE application form fill-up requires a step-by-step procedure for a successful application. This form is divided into four major sections, namely: Personal Details, Academic Details, Test centre selection, and Document Uploadation. Each section has various fields that have to be filled with the required information.

KIITEE application form fill up  procedure is described in detail below:

  • Log in using your login ID and Password that you received via email.
  • Select the course you want to apply for and click on 'Apply Online'. Application form window opens. Fill in the details asked in each of the sections.
  • First is the Personal Details section, which asks about candidate's details like Candidate's Name, Parents' name, Permanent Address, Gender, D.O.B, and Nationality.
  • Second is Academic Qualification section where all details regarding std. X and XII marks are to be filled.
  • Third section is the exam centres are to be selected in decreasing order of preference.
  • Fourth is Document Uploadation where all the required scanned copies of the documents have to be submitted like, scanned signature copy, scanned photograph copy, reservation category certificates, etc.
  • KIITEE Application Fee is free of cost, so no fee payment is to be made.
  • After the application procedure is complete, candidate can wait for the confirmation of application status.

Application Form Details

KIITEE application form contains many fields that aim to know about the candidates' personal information, academic qualification, their choice of test cities according to which the test centres are also allotted to the candidates. As the application process is online then all the document upload is done online. These uploaded documents include a scanned copy of the candidate's photograph along with a scanned copy of candidate's signature.

If the candidate falls under any of the reservation categories like SC, ST, OBC, PwD, etc. then the applied candidate has to upload scanned copies of the reservation certificates also

Registration for KIITEE will be done through Online mode. KIITEE 2020 Application Form is available on the official website of KIIT from November 16, 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form is on March 31, 2020.

Documents required to apply for KIITEE are:

  • Photograph: Upload the photograph of specifications (4 cm X 5 cm).
  • Signature: Browse and attach your digital signatures which will be displayed on your application form of specifications (3.5 cm X 1.5 cm)
  • The photograph should have been taken after 1st December 2020.

Registration fee is free of cost, so no application fee has to be paid.

Admit Card

Once candidates have booked exam slot they can download their KIITEE Admit Card from the official website. KIITEE Admit Card consists of all the details regarding the examination, including examination slot, day as well as the allotted test centres. Candidates are advised to check the application form before submission as it is not allowed to change any information after KIITEE admit card is issued.

  • Issue Date: Admit Card for KIITEE 2020 will be available to download from the official website from April 4, 2020.
  • Slot Booking: Before downloading KIITEE Admit Card candidates have to undergo a process of slot booking. In the process, candidates have to choose the slot of time and date as per their convenience. After slot booking candidates can download their Admit Card.
  • Information on Admit Card: Name, Date of Birth, Roll Number, Photograph, Signature, Examination Date, Examination Time, Examination Venue, KIITEE 2020 Instruction.

How to download KIITEE Admit Card?

Candidates can download their admit card when the admit card issue date is announced by the conducting body in the official website of KIITEE. Candidates can download KIITEE admit card from only the official website for KIITEE exam only. Admit cards will be issued or is available for download only till the day of the examination.

  • Visit candidates portal on the official website of KIITEE.
  • Enter your KIITEE application number and date of birth and submit it.
  • Then you have to book a KIITEE Exam slot which is convenient for you.
  • KIITEE Admit Card will be displayed on your screen. You can download it and take the printout in an A4 size sheet.

Note: In case of any discrepancy in the KIITEE Admit Card candidates should contact the admission director to resolve their problem.

Exam Centres 

Candidates can choose their preferences of KIITEE Exam Center from 27 states during KIITEE Application Form submission. Once Exam Center is allotted to the candidates no request will be accepted for the change of the Exam Center.

Information related to Exam Center will be present on KIITEE Admit Card. Candidate should bring the Admit Card along with any one of the Government Id Proof to the Exam Centre.


Results will be announced on the official website by the conducting authority on April 26, 2020. Candidates can view the KIITEE Result with the help of their Registration No. and Date of Birth. KIITEE 2020 Answer Key will be published by KIIT University within a few days after the exam date. Candidates can calculate the marks and accordingly calculate the marks. If by any chance candidate gets marks lower than their expectation then they can give their answer form for a review.

Merit list will be produced based on marks scored by the candidates participating in the KIITEE examination. According to the merit list rank and marks normalisation, KIITEE percentile can be calculated based on which the candidates will be called for counselling to KIIT University.

How to check KIITEE Result?

After the dates of the KIITEE result are declared the candidate can check the official website for the scorecard. To view KIITEE scorecard the candidate has to enter his KIITEE registration number and D.O.B as login to view the results.

Steps related to viewing KIITEE results online are as follows:

  • Once KIIT publishes the result on the official website, you can visit the official website and search for "KIITEE Results 2020" and click on it.
  • Now you will be redirected towards a student login page, here you have to enter your application number and date of birth as entered during the registration process.
  • Candidates can view their KIITEE Result and Download it. 
  • It is advised to keep a hardcopy of the KIITEE result as it is necessary even in the KIITEE counselling process.


Counselling for KIITEE will commence from May 12, 2020. Candidates who manage to score marks above the cut-off score qualifies and will be called for the counselling and seat allotment process.

There are tentatively two rounds of KIITEE Counselling for which the candidates should appear on time. Successful candidates will be intimated of their final selection through admission offer letter containing the terms and conditions of the admission. 

General Rules

  • You are going to take KIITEE as a computer-based online Test at a workstation.
  • You are required to be present in the Test Centre 45 minutes before the starting time of the Test as specified in the admit card.
  • The Proctor will announce the commencement and completion of the KIITEE Examination.
  • Candidates should leave their seats on hearing the announcement of completion.
  • The candidate must show, on-demand, the valid Admit Card for admission into the KIITEE Examination Hall.
  • A candidate, without a valid Admit Card, will not be permitted to enter the KIITEE Examination Hall under any circumstances.
  • A seat indicating KIITEE Application Number will be allotted to each candidate. Candidates should find out and occupy their allotted seats only.
  • The candidature of a candidate, found to have changed Hall or seat on his/her own, shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any Textual, Material, Calculator, Slide Rule, Log Table, Electronics Watch, Printed or Written Material, Papers, Mobile Phone, Pager or any other device except the Admit Card and Pen/Pencil inside the Examination Hall.
  • No candidate, without the permission of the Centre Superintendent/ Proctor, can leave his/her seat or KIITEE Examination Hall until the completion of the Examination.
  • Smoking in the Examination Hall is strictly prohibited.
  • Tea coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed inside the KIITEE Examination Hall.

Q. What is the exam pattern for B.Tech?

Ans. The KIITEE exam will be held in the online mode i.e, Computer Based Test. Duration of the exam is three hours and consists of three sections on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There will be a total of 120 questions and one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer.

Q. Is KIIT a good university?

Ans. KIIT has recently got tier 1 accreditation and is ranked as number 32 by MHRD in the year 2016. So yes, it is a good university.

Q. What is the reservation criteria in KIITEE?

Ans. The University will announce separate merit lists for each category. Categories and reservation percentage are as given below:

Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in 2011,2012 or appearing in 10+2 examination in 2013 are only eligible to apply for B.Tech (4 years), B.Tech & M.Tech- Dual Degree (5 years), B.Tech & MBA- Dual Degree (5years) course of the University.
