  • Abbreviation: National Aptitude Test in Architecture

  • About: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA 2019) is being conducted by COA since 2006. Purpose of NATA is to conduct only one way for admission to architecture seats in institution spread across India. Interested candidate for Architect degree must have registration with Council of Architecture (COA).

  • Analyze: The NATA 2019 test analyzes observation skills and drawings, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability of the candidate that has been acquired over a long period of time, and that are identified with a particular field of study, i.e. Design.

  • Admission: Through the NATA 2019 online exam, candidates can get admissions in various Architecture colleges/universities across India by only one exam conducted by COA.

  • Admit Cards: The admit card is issued to the candidate successfully registered for the NATA 2019 examination. 

  • Exam Centre: NATA 2019 examination centre will be allocated based on the candidate's preferences which he/she has entered during fill up the application process.

NATA 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification:  10+2 or equivalent passed/appearing or 10+3 Diploma (any stream) passed/appearing recognized by Central/State Govts or International Baccalaureate Diploma passed/appearing, after 10 years of Schooling.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates should secure at least 50 % marks in the above qualifying examination. And candidates who are appearing can also apply.

NATA 2019 Application Form Details:

  • Availability: Application form of NATA 2019 has released on 18th January 2019 and will be available until 2nd March 2019. 
  • Registration: Candidates have to visit the official website of NATA 2019 and then click on Register button for signing up the Registration of NATA 2019.

  • Procedure: Candidates are advised to go through the procedure before applying for the NATA 2019 exam.
  • Details: NATA 2019 Application Form can be filled by providing personal, educational and other required details in the application form.After that NAT 2019 Confirmation page will appear on the screen.

NATA 2019 Exam Pattern:

  • Sections: There will be 2 sections in the question paper of NATA 2019: Part-A comprises of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) to be answered in Online. Mathematics consists of 20 question and General Aptitude consists of 40 question each carries 2 marks. Part-B will be answered on A4 size drawing sheets. It consists of 2 question each carries 40 marks.

  • Subjects: The first 90 minutes will be for Mathematics and General Aptitude and remaining 90 minutes for Drawing section.

  • Duration: The duration oF NATA 2019 exam will be of 1 and half hour (90 minutes).

  • Examination Mode: The NATA 2019 is conducted in offline mode (Pen and Paper Based Test). The candidates will receive OMR sheet in the examination hall.

NATA 2019 Admit Card:

  • Availability of Admit card: The official website of NATA will release the Admit Card on 2nd April 2019 for those candidates whose application form will be submitted successfully.

  • Identity proof: NATA 2019 Admit Card, the candidate will have to carry the documents like Aadhar Card, Pan Card, and Original Photography etc.,

NATA 2019 Guidelines:

NATA 2018

  • The examination corridor will be opened 30 minutes before the initiation of the test. Applicants are relied upon to sit down instantly after the opening of Examination Hall.

  • If the applicants don't report in time, they are probably going to miss a portion of the general directions to be declared in the examination corridor.

  • No applicant will be permitted in examination corridor following 15 minutes of the beginning of the test.

NATA 2018

  • Candidate must bring with them:

(I) Downloaded admit card of NATA 2019,

(II) One copy of a photograph, same as the one uploaded;

(III) Black / Blue Ball Point Pen, pencil, eraser, colour pencils (Not water/oil colour or crayon)

  • Candidates are encouraged to carry with them a cardboard or a clipboard on which nothing ought to be composed so they have no trouble in filling reactions in the appropriate response sheet regardless of whether the tables given in the examination room/corridor do have the smooth surface.

  • Candidates must show on request the Admit Card (NATA - 2019 ) for admission to the examination corridor.

  • Any candidate found to be guilty, he/she will be immediately terminated from the exam permanently or maybe for a period of time.
  • If any candidate found guilty, his/her examination will be stopped immediately and the candidate will be handed over to the police.

  • Candidates are not allowed to leave the examination lobby unless the hand over their OMR sheet to the invigilator on duty; this may somehow or another prompt cancellation of the concerned paper.

Jadavpur University is one of the finest and top universities in eastern India and the number one ranked university in West Bengal. It is ranked 6th among the architecture schools in India as per some of the reports. To be eligible to apply for architecture in this university, you have to be a student of science in your higher secondary studies. Post that, you have to apply for either Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains Paper 2 or a combination of West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) plus National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). It is preferable to apply for WBJEE and NATA because the seats for this combination are higher in number. The overall acceptance is of 40 students, most through WBJEE and NATA. the cutoffs are around 100 in NATA combined with a rank within 2500 in WBJEE.

Hello Babita,

All Architecture schools in India must accept the NATA score. They use the NATA scores as admission criteria. For these schools, 50% weightage is given to the NATA score and 50% weightage to the 12th Standard board exam scores.

Yes, the Council of Architects has stipulated the NATA Test as a mandatory pre requisite for any applicant seeking admission into an architecture college in India. All applicants must clear the NATA exam by securing a minimum of 20/80 marks in Aptitude test and 30/120 in the drawing test. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

Candidates will be required to pay “processing charges” while paying an online payment.

  • Domestic Credit Card:- 1.25% of the NATA Fee plus service tax as applicable
  • Domestic Debit Card:- 0.75% of the NATA Fees plus service tax as suitable
  • Domestic Multiple Bank Net Banking Payment Gateway:- Rs.15 per transaction
  • Collection through PAN India ICICI Branches in cash (through challan):- Rs.30 per transaction
  • For International Credit Card / Debit Card, the charges may apply as per the policy of the Bank.

The last date for submitting your duly filled NATA Application Forms is on the 11th of February.

The Board provides and an extra day to upload your photograph/signature/thumbprint or any other images to your NATA Application Form, which will be until the 12th of February.

The NATA Application Form Fees can be paid until the 13th of February.

A Window of Correction for the Application Form will be provided by NATA for anyone who needs to make any necessary corrections to specific fields on their NATA Application Form from the 20th to the 24th of February.

The NATA Application Form Confirmation Page will be available for Download on the Official Website of NATA until the 28th of February.
