Introduction To NATA 2019

  • About: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) is a national level undergraduate exam which is Organised by Council of Architecture (COA) for admission to 5-year B.Arch programme. 

  • About COA: The Council of Architecture (COA) is a body corporate by the Government of India under the provisions of the Architects Act, 1972, enacted by the Parliament of India, which came into force on 1 September 1972. The Act provides for registration of Architects, standards of education, recognized qualifications and standards of practice to be complied with by the practising architects. 

  • Conducting Authority: NATA #yearis conducted by COA for the Admission of Undergraduate Course in the field of Architecture.

  • Measures: The test measures drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity and critical thinking ability that have been acquired over a long period of time, and that are related to specific field of study, i.e. Architecture.

  • Level: NATA 2019 is a National level aptitude test conducted in all the major cities across India.

  • Eligibility: There is no age limit to apply for NATA. Candidates should have completed their SSLC and 12th with the aggregate of minimum 50% and one who has completed their diploma should have secured minimum 50% to be eligible for NATA 2019 Examination.

  • Mode: NATA 2019 is conducted in both online i.e. Computer-based Test (CBT) and offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) from 18th January 2019 to 2nd March 2019 

  • Frequency: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA 2019) would be held twice from the academic year 2019-20.

 


NATA 2019 Latest Updates

  • Announcement: National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA 2019) would be held twice from the academic year 2019-20. (Source - TOI).

  • Aspirants will have the option to appear in any one, or both the attempts.

  • The exam duration for both Aptitude test and Drawing test have been revised. The duration of the aptitude test has been reduced to 60 minutes, while the duration of the Drawing test has increased to 120 minutes. Earlier both the sections were 90 minutes each.

  • The President of Council of Architecture, Mr Vijay Garg said on Monday "NATA to be conducted twice a year". He also said that there will be National Level Counselling for Admission into B.Arch Course.

NATA 2019 Application Process

  • Website: Visit the official website

  • Registration: Candidates need to register themselves by clicking on the Register button.

  • Details: The candidates are required to fill details like Name, Date of Birth, E-mail ID, Phone Number, etc. The applicants have to create a strong password. After entering the required details click on the "Sign up" button.

  • Credentials: Enter the credentials you have provided while registering NATA 2019 Application Form.

  • Upload Documents: Upload recent photograph and signature in the required format.

  • Fee Payment: Pay the application fee of Rs 1800/- (Rs 1500 for reserved categories)

  • Print: Print the application form and fee receipt for future use

NATA 2019 Exam centres

  • Availability of exam centres: NATA 2019 will be conducted in 136 centres, out of which 135 centres are in India and the remaining one is in Dubai.

  • Report Time: Candidates are advised to reach NATA 2019 Centre on or before the reporting time (will be printed on the admit card). No late entry in the examination premises will be allowed.

  • Note: The candidate cannot place a request for change of allocated centre and it will not be entertained by the conducting authority under any circumstances.

NATA 2019 Admit Card

  • Mode: The admit card will be available in the online mode. 

  • Availability: NATA 2019 admit card will be released on the 2nd April 2019.

  • Required: It is mandatory for the candidates to carry the admit card to the exam centre along with one of the photo IDs like Voter ID/Pan Card/Aadhar Card/Driving Licence/e-Aadhar.

  • Note: If there is any discrepancy, it must be brought to the notice of exam authorities immediately.

NATA 2019 Syllabus

  • Pattern: Candidates are supposed to prepare on the syllabus prescribed by the Council of Architecture (COA) for NATA 2019.

NATA 2019 Results

NATA 2019 Counselling

  • Commencement: The Counselling procedure of NATA 2019 will commence from 4th July 2019 after the declaration of NATA 2019 result.

  • Requirements: Candidates will have to submit Original Certificates/Documents at the time of NATA 2019 counselling.

  • Documents: Admit Card NATA 2019, Score Card, Class 10 and 12 marks sheet and pass certificate, Category Certificate (if applicable), Medical Certificate for PwD Certificate

Jadavpur University is one of the finest and top universities in eastern India and the number one ranked university in West Bengal. It is ranked 6th among the architecture schools in India as per some of the reports. To be eligible to apply for architecture in this university, you have to be a student of science in your higher secondary studies. Post that, you have to apply for either Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains Paper 2 or a combination of West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam (WBJEE) plus National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA). It is preferable to apply for WBJEE and NATA because the seats for this combination are higher in number. The overall acceptance is of 40 students, most through WBJEE and NATA. the cutoffs are around 100 in NATA combined with a rank within 2500 in WBJEE.

GITAM school of architecture has an amazing faculty. I basically just applied with my NATA score and my 12th examination marks. There is a GITAM entrance exam for B.tech. courses. The basic cutoff is 65% in 12th examinations and NATA score has to be above 100 marks.

Hello Babita,

All Architecture schools in India must accept the NATA score. They use the NATA scores as admission criteria. For these schools, 50% weightage is given to the NATA score and 50% weightage to the 12th Standard board exam scores.

Yes, the Council of Architects has stipulated the NATA Test as a mandatory pre requisite for any applicant seeking admission into an architecture college in India. All applicants must clear the NATA exam by securing a minimum of 20/80 marks in Aptitude test and 30/120 in the drawing test. Overall qualifying marks (out of 200) would be based on post-exam statistics and at the discretion of the Council.

Candidates will be required to pay “processing charges” while paying an online payment.

  • Domestic Credit Card:- 1.25% of the NATA Fee plus service tax as applicable
  • Domestic Debit Card:- 0.75% of the NATA Fees plus service tax as suitable
  • Domestic Multiple Bank Net Banking Payment Gateway:- Rs.15 per transaction
  • Collection through PAN India ICICI Branches in cash (through challan):- Rs.30 per transaction
  • For International Credit Card / Debit Card, the charges may apply as per the policy of the Bank.

The last date for submitting your duly filled NATA Application Forms is on the 11th of February.

The Board provides and an extra day to upload your photograph/signature/thumbprint or any other images to your NATA Application Form, which will be until the 12th of February.

The NATA Application Form Fees can be paid until the 13th of February.

A Window of Correction for the Application Form will be provided by NATA for anyone who needs to make any necessary corrections to specific fields on their NATA Application Form from the 20th to the 24th of February.

The NATA Application Form Confirmation Page will be available for Download on the Official Website of NATA until the 28th of February.

The National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture (NIASA), the Academic Unit of Council of Architecture, was instituted in July 2005, as the first institute of architecture initiated jointly by the Council of Architecture (COA) and the Centre for Development Studies & Activities (CDSA). It is a national level institute of excellence that facilitates advanced research in various fields of architecture, to teachers of architecture, professionals and individuals/students. NIASA was operating from Pune, Maharashtra, lovingly called the Oxford of the East.
