Delhi University has opened the online mode of registration window for DU LLB 2020 exam. The last date has been extended to June 22. This year  National Testing Agency (NTA) is going to conduct the law entrance test on July 3. Like undergraduate programs, the varsity has also hiked the application fees for DU LLB entrance exam. 

What is DU LLB Entrance Exam?

Delhi University conducts DU LLB Entrance Exam in order to select the candidates for admission in LLB programs. As many as 2658 seats are filled through this exam. Delhi University is providing three types of courses one is LLB, LLM (2 years) and LLM (3 years). To shortlist the candidate for admission in LLM course offered by the varsity, candidates need to appear for DU entrance exam. These three colleges are accepting DU LLB entrance exam score i.e Campus Law Centre, Law Centre-I and Law Centre-II.

DU LLB 2020  examination is conducted by Dehli University / the University of Delhi. DU LLB is an entrance exam conducted by DU to screen the candidates who are aspiring to study in one of the 3 Law centers of DU. Candidates who get into one of these 3 institutes will be imparted quality education in their LLB / LLM courses.

Exam Date

Delhi University has opened the online registration window for DU LLB 2020 exam. The last date has been extended until June 22. This year, the law entrance test will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 3. Like undergraduate programs, the varsity has also hiked the application fees for DU LLB entrance exam. The test will be held online for two hours across 18 cities in India. The test carries 400 marks. On the basis of merit and cutoff, candidates will be called for counseling.

Eligibility Criteria

The Eligibility Criteria of DU LLB 2020 will be announced by University of Delhi tentatively on June 3 along with the exam notification. DU LLB 2020 Eligibility Criteria mentions the minimum academic qualifications and age bar required to appear in DU LLB 2020. Candidates appearing in DU LLB 2020 need to qualify their graduation degree with at least 50 percent marks. Candidates of SC/ST category need to score 40% marks in their qualifying degree and OBC, PWD and CW need to score 45% in the qualifying degree. A candidate who holds a postgraduate degree or is appearing in the final year postgraduate degree examination can also apply for DU LLB 2020. There is no age bar for DU LLB 2020 entrance exam.

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates who have successfully completed their Graduation/Postgraduation Degree from any affiliated University or in the Final Year of Graduation are considered eligible for DU LLB 2020.

  • Percentage Criteria: Candidates need to have a minimum of 50% (for General Category), 45% (for PwD, OBC Category) and 40% (for SC/ST Category can apply for the examination.

Syllabus

DU LLB Entrance Exam syllabus 2020 highlights the topics under each section- English Language & Comprehension, Analytical Abilities, Legal Awareness & Aptitude, and General Knowledge that candidates need to prepare for the exam. There are four sections in the examination viz.

To prepare for the LLB exam, the candidate needs to focus on the topics such as Jurisprudence, Criminal Law, Law of Contracts (General Principles), Constitutional Law of India, Public International Law, Law of Torts and Family Law (Marriage and Divorce).

Exam Pattern

The exam pattern of DU LLB 2020 will be announced by the University of Delhi tentatively on June 3, 2020, along with the application form. With the help of DU LLB 2020 Exam Pattern, candidates will get an idea of the total marks, important subjects, syllabus, marking scheme, duration of the exam and distribution of marks in the DU LLB 2020 paper. As per the DU LLB Exam Pattern 2020, candidates will be given questions from the subjects namely, English Language and Comprehension, Analytical Abilities, General Knowledge and Current Affairs and Legal Awareness and Aptitude. There will be a total of 100 questions of 400 marks divided into different subjects.

  • Exam Pattern: The exam will consist of 100 questions, that needs to be answered within a duration of 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours. The exam is objective type with multiple choice questions. 
  • Marking Scheme: Candidate will receive 4 marks for every correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Note: Since 1 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer candidates are to be cautious while answering the questions.

Application Form

DU LLB application form 2020 deadline has been extended till June 22. Originally, the last date of the application process was June 17. DU LLB application form was released on June 3. Eligible candidates can fill the application form online on the official website.

The registration fees:

  • SC/ST/PWD/EWS categories - Rs 300
  • For others (Unreserved, OBC, CW) - Rs 750

No offline applications will be accepted by the examination authority for DU LLB Entrance Exam 2020. The eligibility criteria prescribed for the exam is graduation with 50% (45% for OBC and 40% for SC/ST categories).

Exam Centres

The University of Delhi will announce the DU LLB 2020 Exam Centres in May 2020 along with the issue of notification. Aspirants will get to know about the exam centers of DU LLB 2020 in online mode. 6. Once DU Cutoffs are declared, will the admission be offered on a first come, first serve basis?

Ans: No, once you are admitted in a particular subject, you can change your subject only before the last date of DU admissions 2020, provided seats are available and you meet the requisite cut off.

11. I have appeared in class 12th exam but failed to clear Mathematics. Then, I appeared in the compartment exam and cleared it. Now, I have two marks sheets, can I get admission?
