About: Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is a joint entrance exam, annually conducted by IIT Bombay as a qualifying examination for eligible students to obtain admission to Master of Design (M.Des) and Ph.D. programs for particular colleges.
Background: CEED 2019 is a qualifying examination for Design programmes at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Kanpur, and Ph.D. programmes in Design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur.
Authority: IIT Bombay has the complete rights for conducting CEED 2019 and to decide about modalities of admissions and allotment of seats.
Level: CEED 2019 is a National Level Entrance Exam which is conducted across 20 cities in India.
Courses: The courses offered through CEED 2019 are Master of Design (M.Des) and Ph.D.

Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay has released the CEED 2019 Application Form Dates.
CEED 2019 Application Form will be available from 9th October 2018 till 9th November 2018 on the official website.
Candidates are advised to submit their Application Form before the last date.

Qualification: Candidates must have passed a Diploma/ Degree/ Postgraduate degree programme of minimum 3 years, or must be appearing for the final examination of such a program by July 2019 or must have passed the GD Arts Diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2018.

Age: There is no age limit for CEED 2019 and candidates can appear for the exam any number of times.

Question Pattern: Question Paper will consist of 2 sections- Part A and Part B.
Part A contains objective type questions (Multiple Choice Questions, Multiple Select Questions and Numerical Answer Questions).
Part B consists of questions that are aimed at Testing Design, Drawing, and Writing Skills.
Duration: The time duration of CEED 2019 exam is totally 3 hours (Part A- 1 hour + Part B- 2 hours).
Mode: CEED 2019 will be conducted through Online mode.
Admit card: Candidates who have successfully submitted the CEED 2019 Application Form can download the Admit Card from the official website on 1st January 2019.
Credentials: The candidate can download the Admit Card by entering the credentials such as Application Number, Date of Birth.

Sections: According to CEED 2019 Syllabus, the question paper will be divided into 2 parts.

Important points to note for CEED 2019:
There will be a rejection of CEED 2019 application forms due to the poor quality of uploads in the forms.
The merit list (ranks) for CEED will be put up according to category mentioned by the applicant. It must be ensured that category certificate is uploaded along with the CEED 2019 application form.
The candidate may be rejected if the information given in the CEED 2019 application by the candidate is invalid or incomplete.
Candidate must verify all personal and contact details, and qualifying exam before final submission of CEED 2019 application form as they will be printed on the admit card.

The applicant is advised that CEED 2019 admit card must take a printout and must preserve it carefully and later present it at the time of writing exams.

Exam Mode of CEED Exam:
The CEED 2019 consists of two parts, Part A where it is a CBT(Computer-based) and Part B where it is a pen-paper based exam.
Duration of Exam: The time allowed for Part A is 1 hour.
CEED 2019 Exam Marking Scheme: There is no negative marking for CEED 2019, Each correct answer is marked positively.
CEED 2019 Exam Paper: The Part A examination paper consists of 3 sections,
Section one is Numerical Answer Type (NAT) which consists of 10 questions.
Section two contains Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) which consists of 10 questions.
Section Three contains Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ) which consists of 30 questions.
The total marks for Part A examination are 100.
CEED is conducted in two sections, where Part A is computer-based and Part B is pen and paper-based.

Visualisation and Special Ability: Understand the partial aspects and their relationships to understand and transform the needs.
Environmental & Social Awareness: Have a general awareness and a cultural connection with the environment.
Analytical & Logical Reasoning: To analysis the given problem and to deliver a simple solution for the given aspect.
Language & Creativity: Understand the message and deliver a new idea regarding the options given.
Observation and Design Sensitivity: Check on the day to day environment and assign a different solutions to aspects.
Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.
Creativity: To think out of what has given and come up with unique and diverse solutions.
Communication Skills: To communicate new ideas and aspects.
Availability of CEED 2019 Results: The results of the CEED 2019 exam will be published on the CEED website on 4th March 2019.
The authority will not send a hard copy of the CEED 2019 score card.
Information provided by the candidates in the CEED 2019 application form will be shared with concerned institutes and used for future reference.
Obtaining CEED 2019 Result: The applicants can view their result on the official website of CEED.

The CEED 2019 results are declared after assessing the scores of both Part A and Part B of CEED and becomes available for download in PDF format.
