What is AILET?

Full form of AILET is All India Law Entrance Test. It is a national level entrance exam to offer various courses in the stream of Law. AILET 2020 examination is conducted by National Law University, Delhi which has the complete authority to conduct the examination and to allocate the seats to the applied candidates.

Main objective of the university is to evolve and impart interdisciplinary and comprehensive legal education that is socially relevant. AILET 2020 examination is conducted once a year and the interested can make use of this opportunity. AILET 2020 Important Dates/ Schedules

Please note that the dates given below are tentative and the exact dates will be updated once the official notification is released. Once the official dates are released, the data is instantly updated for the convenience of the candidates.

  • Application: The AILET 2020 Application form will be released on January 4, 2020 and the candidates have to submit the filled application form within April 30, 2020.

  • Exam Dates: The exams will be held on May 31, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.

  • Remember the dates given here are tentative and the dates will be updated once the official notification is released.

AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Qualification: Depending on the reservation for the category or according to the general merit cut-off of AILET, the candidate needs to have scored 50% of aggregate marks in the 10+2 qualifying examination for LLB, in the LLB qualification exam to apply for LLM and similarly in the LLM examination to apply for P.h.D.

  • Scoring: Candidates need to have scored a minimum of at least 50 percent marks in 10+2 to seek admission for a five-year integrated law programme. To aim for admission into LLM programme at NLU Delhi, the candidates need to have scored at least 55 percent marks in aggregate of the subjects in the LLB paper to qualify for LLB degree or equivalent.

  • AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria to be reviewed carefully by the candidate before filling the application form, so as to avoid the risk of application form getting rejected during the admission process.

  • Age Limit: Candidates above 18 years of age are eligible for AILET 2020.

AILET 2020 Admit Card

The admit card notifications are given out via push notifications from the Getmyuni website for the registered candidates. The applicants are advised to subscribe to the notifications to keep abreast with the release of important details.

  • Availability: The candidates can download their Admit Card for the AILET exam from May 10, 2020 on the official site.

  • Credentials: In order to download the Admit card, the candidates have to enter their Login ID/ Application Number and Password.

AILET 2020 Application Form

  • Application Process: The candidates have to enter the personal, contact, and academic details while filling the Application form for the AILET exam.

  • Payment: The fee amount for AILET 2020 Application form is 3050/- however, for SC/ST/PwD candidates the fee is 1050/-. Candidates have to take utmost care while filling out the application form to eliminate the possibility of causing any errors.

AILET Exam Pattern

The majority of the scores for the AILET exam is from the MCQ's. The applicants will also have to write an essay and the split of marks is given below:

  • For BA LLB: The AILET 2020 exam for BA LLM will be conducted for 150 marks which will be conducted for total 90 minutes.

  • For LLM: The exam for LLM will be conducted for total 150 marks in which there will be 100 MCQ's each carrying one mark and an essay for 50 marks.

AILET Syllabus

The syllabus for the exam will give the candidates a clear idea of how to prepare for the law entrance exam and gives an edge over other applicants who are unaware of such criteria. 

  • Topics: The candidates should concentrate on topics such as English, General Knowledge, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning etc.

  • Reference Books: The candidates can refer the reference books as prescribed by the board.

  • Subjects:

    • Syllabus for LLB is English including comprehension, elementary mathematics, general knowledge and current affairs, legal aptitude, and logical reasoning.

    • Syllabus for LLM are Law of Contracts, Law of Torts, legal theory, criminal and constitutional law

AILET 2020 Result

One of the highlighting factors of the AILET exam is the way the results are released. The questions and answers of the exam is released along with the results.

  • Result Date for AILET exam: The Results for the AILET exam 2020 will be out by May 28, 2020 on the AILET official site.

  • Question Booklet & Answer Keys: AILET will upload question booklet and answer keys on the website along with results.

AILET Counselling Procedure

The other important part of the exam is the counseling procedure. The counseling for the seats allocated by NLU, Delhi is based on the merit list and the aspiring candidates are advised not to miss the opportunity to secure a seat.

  • Schedule: Once after the AILET 2020 Merit list and answer key is published, the Counselling process starts and the eligible candidates have to attend the counseling without fail.

  • Process: Before the allotment of seats, the process of Document verification takes place in which the candidate's original certificates will be cross-checked.

 The eligibility criteria are a minimum of  60% in 12th, and yes I took up an entrance exam of CLAT, AILET, SET. In CLAT it depends on the cutoff, sometimes the cutoff is very high and sometimes it is very low. But we can assume around 135 from 200 minimum cutoff for general category.
