About MU OET (MET)

Organised by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, MET, formerly known as MU OET, is a university-level entrance exam that offers seats into 218 programs in 19 disciplines through MU OET or MET 2025. MAHE is one of the largest technical institutions not just in India but in Asia too. The institution has now changed its name to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

Earlier, MU OET offered admission to numerous courses including engineering, pharmacy, medical, management, design and social sciences. However, MET is primarily concerned with admission to undergraduate engineering, life sciences and pharmacy programmes offered by the university. The Manipal Academy of Higher Education has introduced other entrance tests to offer admission to non-engineering and pharmaceutical courses.

MAHE: T.M.A. Pai established MAHE in 1953 as Kasturba Medical College. After five years, it was renamed to Manipal Academy of Higher Education. In 1979 after the death of T.M.A. Pai, Ramdas Pai took over the management in 1979. There are 19 colleges and 7 departments under the institution.

MET 2025 Counselling

MET counselling 2025round 2 has commenced from Jun 18, 2025. The MET seat allotment result for round 1 has been declared on Jun 09, 2025 (After 8 PM). Candidates are advised to download their seat acceptance letters and make the fee payment of the 1st instalment by Jun 16, 2025, i.e., INR 2.40 Lakh. The rest of the fee can be paid till Jun 20, 2025, based on the fee structure of their course and allotted college.

Candidates must remember that if they wish to opt out or wait for better options, they must pay INR 10,000 for participation in further rounds of counselling.

Applicants for MET counselling 2025 are accepted for admission if their ranks are higher than the MET cutoff for BTech in 2025. The authority has published a MET merit list 2025 online.

MET 2025 Application Form

MET phase 1 application form 2025 was released by the conducting body on Oct 14, 2024. The last date to apply for Phase 1 was Mar 28, 2025. Subsequently, the Phase 2 application forms were out on Mar 30, 2025. The last date to apply for the MET 2025 Phase 2 exam was Apr 22, 2025.

The online application form for MET was available on the official website at apply.manipal.edu. Candidates willing to write the MET exam should register first to successfully fill out the MET 2025 application form. Candidates who do not register for MET 2025 will not be allowed to write the exam.

• Application Form: Candidates who want to participate in MET 2025 have to fill out and submit the application form via online mode.
• Application Form Fee: The application form fee for MET is INR 2000 (Test Fee: INR 1400 and Course Fee: INR 600) for General category candidates. For NRI/Foreign International students, the application fee is INR 2500.

MET 2025 Eligibility

MET 2025 Eligibility for Foreign Nationals

The following criteria need to be met by foreign nationals to be able to apply for the MET 2025 exam:

• Foreign nationals can apply for MET, but they should have certificates that MAHE demands.
• The admission process for foreign nationals will be based on merit in the qualifying exam.

MET 2025 Admit Card

The authorities have started the MET slot booking process using the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) from May 02 to May 04, 2025, where candidates can select the shift timings as per their preferences. Registered candidates will be issued MET 2025 admit cards for Phase 2, once they complete the MET slot booking process 2025. 

The admit cards will tentatively be released by May 09, 2025. Applicants must carry a printout of the MET 2025 admit card with them to the exam hall. Without it, candidates will not be allowed to write the exam.
