Introduction to MU OET 2018:

  • About: Manipal University Online Entrance Test is a University level entrance test conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education for all the eligible candidates. Manipal University (MU OET) has now changed the name to Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE OET). Manipal University is one of the largest technical universities not only in India but perhaps in Asia also because of its gigantic size and the number of colleges affiliated to it and geographic dispersion.

  • MAHE: Manipal University was established by T.M.A. Pai which was called as Kasturba Medical college for five years. In 1979 after the death of T.M.A. Pai, Ramdas Pi took over the management in 1979. The university is organized into 19 colleges and 7 departments.

  • Courses: Manipal Academy of Higher Education offers 218 programs in 19 disciplines. MAHE offers programmes in the areas of Allied Health, Architecture, Basic & Advanced Sciences, Communication, Dentistry, Engineering, European Studies & Foreign Languages, Geopolitics & International Relations, Hospitality, Humanities, Information Sciences, Life Sciences, Management (MBA), Medicine, Natural Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Regenerative Medicine. MU OET 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Mode and Duration: The exam is conducted in an online mode and the exam duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.

  • Marking scheme: There is different marking scheme for different courses.

    • B.Tech, M.Sc and M.Tech- Correct answer: (+)4 marks. Incorrect answer: (-)1 mark;

    • Other courses- Correct answer: (+)1 mark. No negative marking.

MU OET 2018 Admit Card

  • E-Hall ticket number: The admit card has your e-hall ticket number, the course you have applied for, the address of the test centre, and slot of your test.

MU OET 2018 Exam pattern:

  • For M.Tech, M.Sc, and B.Tech: Each question is of four marks. Each correct answer will fetch you four marks; Each wrong answer will result in a one-mark deduction; no marks for unanswered questions.

  • Other courses: Each question is of one mark. Each correct answer will fetch you one mark; wrong answers or unanswered questions will get no marks.

  •  Exam Pattern for B.Tech Course for MU OET 2018: Physics will consist of 50 questions, Chemistry will consist of 50 questions, Mathematics will consist of 70 questions. English and General Aptitude will consist of 30 questions. And a total of 200 questions.

  •  Exam Pattern for BBA Course for MU OET 2018: Numeracy subject includes English which consists of 20 questions. Case study subject will consist of 15 questions in the specialized coursed. And a total of 4 subjects and 100 questions.

  •  Exam Pattern for B.Tech (Lateral) for MU OET 2018: Mathematics will consist of 50 questions in the specialized coursed exam for MU OET 2018. Physics will consist of 10 questions. Chemistry subject will consist of 10 questions. Communication skills in English subject will consist of 20 questions. And a total of 4 subjects and 90 questions.

  •  Exam Pattern for MCA course for MU OET 2018: Mental Ability subject will have 25 questions in the specialized coursed exam for MU OET 2018. Basic Mathematics subject will have 10 questions. General English subject will have 25 questions. Computer Aptitude subject will have 40 questions. And a total of 4 subjects and 100 questions.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

Eligibility criteria was minimum 60% in plus 2 and passing the Manipal University Online Entrance Test. Regarding admission procedure, there was a counselling round, where the students were called in the order of their ranks and asked to select either B.Pharm or Pharm.D. If the seats were filled then the students were given an option of being waitlisted. I took the online entrance exam (MU OET). Last year the minimum tank was 7500. To get Pharm.D you have to have a rank of atleast 300 to 400.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

The eligibility criteria are the student should have passed his 12th board with 75% aggregate. They should take Manipal University online entrance test which is an online exam. Based on the score of MU OET the ranks will be displayed on the result day. On the day of counselling, the rank cutoff for the branches will be declared. Based on our choices we choose any course and pay the fees.

Eligibility Criteria and Admission Process

The admissions into Manipal University Jaipur are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal Online Entrance Test (MU OET). The eligibility criteria is: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or A Level or IB or American 12th grade or equivalent examination with Physics, English, and Mathematics as Compulsory subjects, along with any one of Chemistry or Computer Science or Biotechnology or Biology or Statistics or Engineering Drawing as optional subject for admission to B Tech, with minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and the optional subject, put together. I took the MOUET-2015 and secured a rank of about 11k. The cutoff at my time for IT was 20k. Bug the cut offs change every year.

  • MU is a residential institute and all the students who are admitted are accommodated in hostels. It is compulsory for a first-year student to live in a hostel. However, in exceptional cases, permission may be granted by the dean or director to stay out of the hostel.
