GREEN Olympiad is an associate annual written examination on setting initiated by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in 1999. The examination is conducted by setting the Education & Awareness space (EEA) of TERI and attracting faculty students across India and abroad.

The examination is open just for colleges related to recognized education boards and academic trusts. Students registered in such colleges from grades IV to X are eligible for the examination.

8. International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS)

IAIS is an internationally conducted examination customized for students of primary and secondary school. Olympiad Exams are overseen by Educational Assessments Australia (EEA), a part of UNSW Global. Australia’s leading research and teaching universities which own UNSW Global and are responsible for the development of ICAS are the University of New South Wales. ICAS administers these exams in over 20 countries across the world.

9. HBCSE

The idea of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) started in the late 1960s when some scientists at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) decided to improve the quality of science taught in India. The program started with the scientists teaching students in Mumbai and a few places in rural Madhya Pradesh. 

The idea grew to become HBCSE in 1974, supported by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). HBCSE works on the improvement of science and mathematics education and to bring out quality education material. At present, Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) is a National Centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai. To reach its goal, HBCSE does several interrelated activities. They are research and development, teacher education and science popularisation, and other students' nurture programs. 

10. UNICUS Olympiads

Unicus Olympiad is India's first summer Olympiad Exam introduced to encourage students to adopt the concept-driven method of studying. The method enhances students' questioning curiosity, which assists them in answering all why, what, how, when, and where questions. 

Unicus Olympiads encourages students by offering them certificates. Besides, they also provide medals and scholar trophies for deserving students who stand ahead in this stiff competition.

11. Indian Talent Olympiad (ITO)

Indian Talent Olympiad was introduced in 2012 to identify talented students and train them to improve their academic performance to enhance conceptual learning. The individual Olympiad exams conducted under the Indian Talent Olympiad focus on the knowledge, level of understanding, and reasoning abilities of students all across India under different subjects of their academics.

Considering records, it is notable that 31,573 schools across India have registered for the Indian Talent Olympiad examinations, and over the past year, ITO has won the trust of over one crore parents.

12. Crest Olympiad

13. NMMS

NMMS is the scholarship exam that is conducted in every state. The government-sponsored scheme "National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)" was first launched in May 2008. The objective of the NMMS scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out of class VIII and encourage them to continue studying at the secondary stage. 

14. NTSE

The Government of India established the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) in the year 1961 to bring about qualitative improvement in school education in the country. The council started several programs towards its vision, and one such program was the identifications and nurturing of talented students and was called the National Talent Search Exam (NTSE).

15. Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)

  • KVPY is an ongoing National Fellowship Program in basic sciences, which is initiated and funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract highly motivated students to pursue basic science degree courses and research careers in science mathematics subjects. 
  • The KVPY program's objective is to identify talented students with an aptitude for research and help them realize their academic potential and encourage them to take up research careers in the science field and ensure the growth of the best scientific minds for research and development in the country.

16. National Olympiad Foundation (NOF)

Technothlon is a competition conducted for school students internationally by the student body of IIT Guwahati. Starting with a group of students in a small room in 2004 to “Inspire Young Minds.” The competition started with students in the city of Guwahati and has expanded to more than 400 cities in the past 14 years with various centres abroad.

The championship is conducted in two rounds:

  1. Prelims: Prelim is a written exam that is done all over India in multiple schools in July.

  2. Mains: Mains is a competition where teams participate in different events conducted in Technique, the Techno-Management festival of IIT Guwahati.

19. Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO)

Indian Computing Olympiad is a nationwide Olympiad organized annually by IARCS. The goal of the exam is to identify school students with outstanding skills in algorithms and computer programming. The four students representing India at the IOI World finals are selected through the Indian Computing Olympiad (ICO). The first ICO was organized way back in 2002; however, it got its name in 2006. The Indian Association for Research in Computing Science (IARCS) organizes the ICO every year.

20. Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE)

Indian School Talent Search Exam (ISTSE) is an international level talent search examination for Indian school students. ISTSE is a scientifically designed, skill-based assessment test to get the strengths and weaknesses of individual students across India.

ISTSE is designed to assess the overall intellectual potential of the students from classes 1 to 10. It uses conceptual, multiple-choice questions to focus on measuring how well the student has understood the skills and concepts underlying the school syllabus. ISTSE exam is conducted separately for students who applied online, i.e., individually and for students who applied through respected schools.

21. International Life Skill Olympiad (ILSO)

22. National Economics Olympiad (NEO)

National Economics Olympiad conducted by the Shri Ram College of Commerce is a nationwide school Olympiad for students of classes 11 and 12. To be eligible for the Olympiad students should be pursuing their higher education in any recognized education board of India.

NEO Exam aims at assessing students knowledge of fundamental concepts in Economics. The exam has two rounds of the preliminary and final rounds. Both the rounds are conducted online as multiple-choice questions. The preliminary exam has four sections, including Economics, Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation, and Case Studies. Top-performing participants NEO Exam are awarded cash prizes and scholarships.

23. CSC Olympiad

Common Service Center Olympiad conducted by the CSC Academy under the CSC e-Governance service was established in 2009. The Olympiad was overseen by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and regulated by CSC Academy. It is a nationwide Olympiad conducted for students of classes 3 and 12.

CSC Olympiad exams are conducted for Hindi, Mathematics, English, Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, General Knowledge, Cyber, and Logical Reasoning subjects. The exams are conducted in October on three dates. Top scores of CSC Olympiad Exams are awarded cash prizes, performance analysis reports, and scholarships.

24. RPS Olympiad

The RPS Olympiad is organized and regulated by the Rao Pahlad Singh Education Society (RPS) in January 2024 asan objective, offline, and online Olympiad exam. This national level exam is conducted for students of classes 3 to 10 based on their school subjects like mathematics, science, EVS, and general knowledge questions.

RPS Olympiad exams are divided into two phases/levels where the students clearing phase 1 are qualified for the RPS phase 2 exams. The RPS phase 1 and phase 2 exams are conducted online and offline, respectively.

25. National Engineering Olympiad

The National Engineering Olympiad (NEO) is conducted by NEO Educational Foundation and regulated by Star Skillcare Education Private Ltd. It is open to all engineering students to showcase their knowledge and talent at the national level. Students clearing the NEO Olympiad are offered internship opportunities.

Any student studying in accredited engineering colleges across India can appear for the NEO Olympiad exam. Besides, students from an engineering background can appear for the exam, but they are not entitled to receive any rewards.

26. National Entrepreneurship Olympiad

National Entrepreneurship Olympiad is an initiative by the E-Cell of IIT Bombay. The Olympiad aims to prepare interested students for the path of Entrepreneurship.
