Placements & Internships : The placement cell of the Institute provides some internship opportunities from semester to semester however most of these are available during summers itself, owing to the giant 2-month break. However, these opportunities are few and limited to certain domain areas like coding and software development. As far as placements are concerned, the season begins in the 7th semester wherein the recruiting companies begin with their processes. The salary figures begin from 5 LPA and are seen as towering as much as 20 LPA if not more to the select prodigies. The jobs and roles differ from branch to branch however it's seen that most of the well-known companies of the likes of Deloitte and Amadeus generally have the same profiles for all their candidates. Other than these some globally known brands like Honeywell, FutureFirst and Goldman Sachs also recruit from the campus offering a minimum of 9LPA on their CTC. All said and done, the Institute boasts of a large and globally present alumni network that has a high number of active members.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) conducts an entrance examination of its own widely known as the 'MUOET'. The entrance is a straightforward examination with fundamental questions from all the 3 subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and gives a substantial weightage to the English section. The test is conducted at certain city centers throughout the country in a timed online format.  Among other mainstream exams like JEE and BITS entrances, MUOET is definitely an easier approach towards engineering if you're more aware of your scientific grassroots.  A typical cut off would for the most sought after technical branch, i.e. Computer Science Engineering, would be 130/200. Manipal Entrance does not provide any reservations of any kind therefore one doesn't need to worry about being sidelined by the different quotas found in the rest of the educational institutes in India.

Fees & Scholarships : Manipal Institute of Technology, [MIT] Manipal University Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 3.85 Lakh. A few scholarships are offered by the institute which can be found out on their web portal however they are extremely competitive, and perfect for the deserving candidate.  A significant number of students take benefits from the educational loans provided by banks and the ICICI bank is affiliated to most of the Institute's expenses. Almost all major banks provide a cover of the complete educational expense at a decent rate of interest. Notable mentions would be the State Bank of India, Canara Bank, and ICICI Bank.

Academics & Faculty : The college has a rather congested daily routine with classes beginning as early as 8 AM to all through 5:30 PM. Hour-long classes with small breaks in between are quite tiresome and dull. There are weekly quizzes conducted on a surprise basis however they come off as more of a shock instead. There are 2 internal assessment tests in the middle of the semester and account for half the final result.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : Infrastructurally, Manipal Institute of Technology is one of the best campuses throughout the country. There are some 20-22 hostels dedicated to students of all courses and 5 food courts and mess facilities. The hostel fee ranges from 50k a year to about 1.8 lakh depending on the facilities provided. The hostel mess provides a wide variety of food, both North Indian and South Indian, and are comfortably located throughout the campus. The cost of the food is included within the hostel fee itself. There are various accommodation options outside the college as well at comparable rates.  One of the strongpoints that the college has is the infrastructural developments in the academic area. The campus is huge and has every facility required for research and experimentation. With the best state of the art equipments available to the faculty and students and the latest software bundles at their disposal, the college ranks in the top tier of the nation's engineering and scientific research. A 4 storeyed fully equipped library provides for all the answers that an enthusiast engineer seeks, only if he/she understands what they are looking for. With best journals and publications from across the country, this is one of the biggest assets of the college.

Clubs & Associations : The campus has a large student community involved in every activity that is possible to have. From gaming to astronomy to dramatics to fine arts, every kind of student group is available on the campus. The campus holds two main student festivals, a tech fest and a cultural one. Both of these festivals are completely student-organized and provide great exposure to students in terms of learning and organizing by themselves.  The college life after 5:30 PM is generally easy going with a vast options of activities to choose from. The student community is huge and it's hard to feel left out even if you have an extremely niche of interests. There's also a club solely for the purpose of watching movies. So there's something for everyone to do.

Placements & Internships : I have done 2 internships personally, but none of them has been through college. However, it gave me a slight edge as i was from MIT when i was hired for internships. There was no stipend for both of them. I got an offer through campus placements but i rejected it later. It was a 6-month internship from ClearTax and they were offering 15,000 rupees plus additional benefits (5000 rupees). There are lots of big companies that come to our campus. Amazon, Deloitte, Tata, Fiat, Bosch, Hyundai Mobis, Ather Energy, Accenture, TCS, Royal Enfield, HP, P&G etc. Most of these companies hired for marketing and sales roles, however, core companies came for tech-specific roles. However, it finally depends on the branch you're in. Like since i was in Automobile, companies like Tata and Fiat made us not eligible but they allowed Mechanical students for their selection process. Average salary figures for my branch ranged from 2.8L p.a to 8L p.depending on the company. So for an average estimate, i would say 5L p.a. For Automobile branch, in particular, the history of our placement record hasn't been great. It was a mere 10%, but this year(2019) it increased to 40%. Not just our branch, but the overall placement for the entire college has been fruitful. The only Alumnus that everyone talks about is Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for me when i had applied for Manipal University in 2016 was a minimum of 60% in my 11th and 12th. The admission procedure involved applying online for the entrance test (MUOET) by filling the application form and paying a certain amount of money (about 1000 rupees). I only took the MUOET and it was for 200 marks at that time with no negative marking and the test was for 3 hours. There were no cutoffs as such, but you needed a good rank to get a good branch choice in the college, so i would say get around 100+ and it should be fine. I got 113 and my rank was 10,000, so the competition is pretty tough.

Fees & Scholarships : Manipal Institute of Technology Fee Structure. Fees of Manipal Institute of Technology ranges from 3.1L to 3.9L per year. It differs each year based on the subjects.   Scholarship options are available only if you score extremely well in the entrance test, i.e. the top 5000 ranks for example. I'm not too sure about the number of students who get the scholarship.

Academics & Faculty : The daily routine followed in college is pretty chill actually. There's no fixed timetable every day for classes as the timings change every day. However a normal full day would be from 8 am to 5 30pm with 3 breaks in between, 10 am to 10 30am, 11 30 or 12 30pm to 1 pm or 2 pm and 3 pm to 3 30pm on some days. The quality and method of teaching is really good with optimal use of projectors and blackboards, with lots of labs. I would say that the overall experience is great in college, with a variety of facilities offered to students

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : The hostels you are allocated here are only based on merit and this is something i think the college should change, as students should be allowed to freely choose whichever hostel they are comfortable with. However, the rooms are pretty good. The non AC rooms are very spacious and it gives you a very homey feeling with very clean surroundings. The AC rooms, although a bit small have a very luxurious feel to it. I stayed in an AC room for a semester and it felt like i was staying in a hotel.  The fees per year range from 80,000 (for non-ac rooms) to 1,50,000 (for ac rooms). There are many options for staying outside the campus as well. There are PG's, Apartments, Hostels etc. I am not too sure of the rates outside the campus as i have never stayed outside, but the monthly rent for one of my friends living in an apartment was 18,000. There are lots of options if you're looking for food on campus. You have to join the mess compulsorily in your 1st year and it wasn't that great to be honest because the food becomes repetitive. But when i visited the mess recently, i found their food better than what it was before, so they have gradually improved. There are many other messes and canteens within the campus and they range from North Indian food to South Indian food. The mess fees per year were 40,000. The quality of the classrooms here was really amazing. I was really surprised when i stepped into my class for the first time, as it was huge and lit and the furniture was brand new. We have a huge library within the campus, there is a huge sports arena called Marena just outside the campus and this was the most incredible building I've ever seen in my life. Especially for a sports complex, it exceeded my expectations as I'm an athlete myself. The campus houses 3 huge grounds for football, cricket and hockey.  The labs here are extremely well maintained and are filled with equipment. For us especially, we could work on various car parts and get a lot of hands-on experience. There is Wifi for each and every student who stays in the hostel. The speed is usually 1mbps and a limit of 30gb per month after which you will have to pay for the additional package.

Clubs & Associations : There are a number of different clubs on campus and they hold recruitments every semester for interested students. There are technical as well as non technical clubs. The various technical clubs are, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), Robotics club, Formula racing club, Offroad racing club, Rover club, Artificial satellite club etc. The various non technical clubs were, dramatics club, dance club, music club, arts club etc. There are 2 main fests that occur in campus, Techtatva and Revels Techtatva is a technical fest where colleges around India come to participate in various events held by our college. There are events like RC car racing, drone racing, Battlecar wars, obstacle courses etc Revels is a non tech fest where colleges come to  participate in events held by college. There are events like Battle of the bands, Dance competitions, singing, memory games etc. The life in Manipal is really chill. Since it is a student town, it is filled with a young crowd and you get a lot of freedom to do whatever you want. The rules are not strict at all, especially if you stay outside campus.

Fees & Scholarships : The Course fee in MIT is INR 3.4 lacs per anum. Not really aware of scholarships, but I know they do offer scholarships. Not aware I have no idea about loans. But it is showed on the college website, I guess

Academics & Faculty : Daily routine is awesome. Very chill. Teaching quality is good. Overall experience is amazing.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : 22 hostels. Hostels are amazing, but it's expensive compared to moving out. I'd suggest to move out. It costs 10k per month in almost both cases, but flats are way more comfortable. Mess costs around 5k per month

Clubs & Associations : Lot of clubs. Lot of diversity. Fest is also taken seriously and done with a lot of enthusiasm. College life is bomb.

Placements & Internships : I recently finished my 2nd year and am now interning at a startup in Bangalore, while the course plan is elaborate and covers basic skills required I would suggest students to cultivate technical skills apart from the course plan for a more dynamic profile. Key companies that recruit from the campus include Amazon, Microsoft, Dell, Bosch, Deloitte, FIAT etc. Overall placement is good as long as you have a well rounded skill set.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : MIT has a separate entrance exam which follows similar question pattern as JEE Mains with a total of 200 question to be solved in 2 hours. The diffiulty level of these questions is below JEE Mains and covers basics of all subjects. One mark is rewarded for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. The typical Cutoff for IT is around 150 marks. While the questions arent very difficult it is a race against time to solve as many questions correctly within the time limit.

Fees & Scholarships : The total course fee is around INR 14 lacks which do not include accommodation and food expenses. There are several scholarships provided by the college and are mentioned below. 1. Free-ship and Merit-cum-means scholarship 2. AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme 3. Scholarships for Academy of General Education Students (SAGES) 4. Merit-cum-means scholarship for BTech lateral entry students from Manipal group Polytechnic Institutions 5. Scholarship for Konkani speaking students / students studied in AGE colleges 6. Scholarship scheme of interest subsidy on education loan for MAHE students 7. Scholarships for Nursing students 8. Scholarships for School of Information Science (SOIS) students 9. Kadambi scholarship 10. ITC scholarship

Academics & Faculty : The basic class timings is from 8am to 5:30pm. There are breaks after two consecutive classes and lunch breaks, classes are scheduled 6 days a week and vary wrt to time table. A minimum of two half days is observed in the timetable. The faculty is experienced and learned and extremely supportive. The campus atmosphere is very friendly and supportive and prioritizes student safety and well being. Infrastructure is top notch and course currriculum is regularly updated.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : There are currently a total of 20+ hostel blocks, out of which half are girls blocks and the rest are boys blocks, all the hostels have great infrastructure and facilities. Each hostel has several wardens appointed and caretakers to take care of the students' well being and safety. Each block has different fees depending on which type of room it is. Other than the hostels there are pgs and appartments available for students within campus vicinity. The campus has several food mess, veg and non veg separated with good hygenic food and for those who are unable to enjoy their food there are other options available as well. All hostels and academic areas have high speed Wifi and water filters.

Clubs & Associations : There are more than 150+ student clubs in MIT manipal which include non technical clubs like dramatics, dance, music, arts, debate etc, techincal clubs like IECSE, IEEE, AISTE, AIESEC etc and student projects like Formula manipal, MRM, TMR which are all renowned in their fields. Students are free to join as many clubs each of which helps in their personal growth. Most of these clubs have events of their own like the plays put on by the dramatics clubs or acoustic nights by MAFIA. Other than these the two main college fests are Tech Tatva and Revels where colleges from all over india come to participate in various events.  The college celebrates all major festivals by making arrangements in the hockey/football ground and all students and faculty are invited. A sight to behold is the diwali celebration where instead of lighting firecrackers everyone releases fire lanterns into the sky and the entire night sky is filled with lanterns drifting away. The college life is energizing and fun and teaches us how to be independent.
