About: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a test conducted to evaluate a candidate’s English language proficiency. TOEFL exam can be taken by people whose native language is not English and wish to pursue higher education in Foreign countries.
Conducting Authority: It is administered by Educational Testing Service (ETS) – a US-based non-profit organization. TOEFL exam is recognized by more than 9,000 colleges, universities and organizations and other TOEFL participating institutes across 130 countries, including Australia, Canada, the UK and the United States.
Frequency: TOEFL is conducted more than 50 times a year at 4500 test centres in 165 countries worldwide. But candidates can sit for the exam maximum 5 times a year by choosing their preference of TOEFL exam dates.
Validity: Scorecard of TOEFL remains valid for 2 years from the TOEFL exam date.
