BE (Bachelor of Engineering) Eligibility:


The basic eligibility criteria for pursuing a BE course is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with a reasonably high percentage of marks. Clearing the different national and state level entrance exams such as Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test [BITSAT], Vellore Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Exam [VITJEE] etc conducted by different universities and colleges across the country. A Joint Entrance Exam Mains [JEE Main] is conducted by Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in the country.

An examination is also conducted by the Associate Membership of the Institute of Engineers [AMIE], which enables working people in the private/public sector and diploma holders to acquire a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering through distance education. The degree awarded is considered equivalent to a regular BE degree.

BE Admission:

Admission Procedure - Bachelor of EngineeringAdmissions for BE course is mainly based on the entrance exams conducted by both central and state government. Some of the reputed universities have their individual entrance exams to get admission for the respective universities. The selection of the specialisation in BE is purely based on ranking. Even though the JEE score is for IIT's, most of the BE institute will give admission if the candidates have really good marks.

Few of the colleges give admission through merit-based. So, students need to score a minimum of 85% above to get merit. Which varies from universities standards. However, for government institutes or to get government quota, one should go through entrance exams conducted by national and state government.
