  • Any Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) passed students are eligible for M.Arch. Degree course. Candidates appearing for the final exams of B.Arch. can also apply.
  • Those eligible need to acquire a minimum of 50% in the entrance examination.
  • Some Institutes requires an aptitude test and an Interview for admission into the Master's Degree in Architecture.

Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance examination, such as GATECEEDTANCET etc. some such exams are listed here with their details.

  • GATE- Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is conducted jointly by IITs and the Indian Institute of Science. The minimum eligibility to take the test is graduation.
  • CEED- Common Entrance Examination for Design is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and IITs. The minimum eligibility to take the test is graduation in design, fine arts, or engineering from a recognized institution. The syllabus of the exam comprises questions related to design and general awareness, visual design, sketching, observation, design thinking ability, visual communication design etc. The interview is the last stage.

Also, there are some colleges and universities that conduct their own entrance tests for admission to the course, while some offer direct admission too.

The eligibility criteria for admission to the college included class 12th marks and NATA exam score. A good score of combined 80% in 12th and NATA was an eligible score to get admission in the college. Typical cutoffs vary from college to college and one has to score well in NATA, mostly more than 80 out of 200 to get admission.
