Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi or IITD) was established in 1961, is ranked second in the engineering category in the NIRF 2025 ranking. IIT Delhi Courses and Fees 2026

IIT Delhi offers more than 150 undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ranging from the flagship B.Tech program to specialised courses such as MBA, MSc, MTech, MS, BDes, MDes, and PhD. IIT Delhi Admission 2026 

IIT Delhi admission process typically begins around November each year. The eligibility criteria for BTech courses consist of JEE Advanced scores, and for PG courses, CAT/JAM/GATE entrance exams are significant. IIT Delhi admission process relies on JoSAA and COAP counselling and seat allocation. 

• For the undergraduate courses, the admission starts with the registration process of JEE Main & Advanced for BTech, followed by the entrance examinations, JoSAA counselling, and seat allocation. 
• The BDes admission process consists of the UCEED examination for the Department of Design. 
• The post-graduate admission process for M.Tech starts with registration for GATE. The admission process is followed by the COAP counselling after the entrance exam.

IIT Delhi Cutoff 2026

The JEE Advanced closing rank in 2025 for BTech CSE was 126, and the GATE cutoff for MTech was 800. The admission process in IITD BTech courses consists of JEE Advanced obtained marks and the JoSAA counselling process. The MTech admission process follows the GATE cutoff and COPA counselling. IIT Delhi cutoff for 2026 will be released, followed by the completion of the entrance exams.

IIT Delhi JEE Advanced Cutoff 2026 (Expected)

GATE is mandatory for the MTech admission process in the Delhi IIT. In the 2025 cutoff, the overall closing rank was 450-800 for various courses. The respective cutoffs for MTech CSE and MTech Data Science were 800 and 720, while the expected cutoff in 2026 for the MTech CSE is around 780-820. IIT Delhi Campus

The IIT Delhi campus area is approximately 320-325 acres, located at Hauz Khas in South Delhi. Filled with greenery and a picturesque landscape, with excellent facilities for students. There are two satellite campuses of IIT Delhi in Sonipat and Jhajjar, and an international campus in Abu Dhabi. The hostel fee is included in the course fees. The total hostel fee can range from INR 40,000 to 60,000 per semester, depending on the type of accommodation provided to the student.

• Hostel: There are 14 hostels in total, 11 for boys and 3 for girls. The accommodations are fully furnished, the hostel facilities include, reading room, a dining hall with a mess, indoor games room, etc. The hostel fees can vary depending on the kind of room allotted to the student.
• Accommodation: Other than the hostels, there are a total of 600 houses for the accommodation of the faculty. There is basic electrical equipment and water supply available in the accommodations.
• Library: IIT Delhi has an outstanding library with more than 2000 books, 463,000 journal articles, and more.
• Sports Facilities: IITD sports facilities offer playgrounds, running tracks, a football field, etc, for the physical growth of students.
