What is JCECE?

The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (JCECE) is an Entrance Exam for getting admission into first-year professional courses like engineering, medical, architecture & agriculture in government & private affiliated colleges through the JCECE board.

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board is a self-financed, autonomous incorporated body of the State Government. The Government has constituted the Member of Board for taking decisions on policy and organizational matters in light of the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board Act 2000.

Information on JCECE Exam Registration, Dates, Counselling, Eligibility

  • It is conducted by Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB).
  • The Board conducts the exam for granting admissions into undergraduate courses like B.Tech (Dairy Technology, Agriculture Engineering), B.Sc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc. & Animal Husbandry in Jharkhand. The application form is to be filled and submitted online.
  • It is a state level entrance examination. The applicants, particularly from Jharkhand, who have taken up the PCM exam or PCB exam as part of their intermediate studies can take the test.
  • It is conducted once in a year usually in May or June every year and results are expected to be released by the end of June. And frequently the counselling happens by the month of July.
  • There are mainly three different subject groups:
    • PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) for Engineering, Agriculture, Dairy Technology and Forestry courses.
    • PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for B.V.Sc Courses.
    • PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) for both Engineering and Medical courses. In PCMB a candidate can get admission into all the available courses (B.Tech, Agriculture, Animal Forestry and B.V.Sc).

What is the Eligibility Criteria for JCECE?

Only the candidates who satisfy JCECE Eligibility Criteria can apply for the Exam. The candidate should be the citizen of India and also a local/permanent resident in the State of Jharkhand.

The Candidates should belong to the below-mentioned age group and the age criteria differs based on the course.

The Candidate must have passed in the 12th standard or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 45% in PCM Exam or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology) and reserved categories (SC/ ST/ OBC) should have 40% to qualify for the examination. Candidates must produce necessary documents as proof of their PCM Exam Results.

Candidates should produce a resident certificate from the verified authority at the time of the counselling process.

Syllabus

The JCECE 2019 Question Paper will be based on class 11th and class 12th of CBSE syllabus. The JCECE Syllabus comprises of 4 subjects with topics related to Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology.

It would be helpful for the candidates if they can go through the reference books for exam preparation. The below-given table shows the Syllabus of each subject:

Application Form

The JCECE Application Form will be available online on the official website. The candidates can choose any mode with which they are convenient.

The Application Form will be available on the official website from April 30, 2019 and the last date to submit the form is May 25, 2019.

The application fee for PCB and PCM groups belonging to the General/OBC-I /OBC-II category is INR 900/- and those belonging to SC/ST category and female candidates is INR 450/-.

How to Register for JCECE?

Before filling the Application Form the candidates will have to Register themselves. The candidates can follow the steps given below to complete the Registration Process:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website
  • Step 2: Click on the New Registration button
  • Step 3: Enter the details asked
  • Step 4: You will receive a Registration number and Password on the Registered mobile number or Email ID for login purpose.

How to Apply for JCECE?

The candidates can follow the steps given below to Apply for JCECE Exam:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website and login
  • Step 2: Enter your Person Details and Educational Qualification
  • Step 3: Upload scanned images of Photograph, Signature, and Thumb Impression
  • Step 4: Payment of Application Fee
  • Step 5: Submit the Application Form and take a Printout

Documents required to Apply for JCECE

The candidates who are Applying for JCECE Exam will need to following Documents to Apply:

  • Marksheets of Class 10 and 12
  • Category Certificate
  • Scanned image of Photograph, Signature, Thumb Impression
  • A valid credit/debit/net banking for Application Fee payment

Exam Pattern

The JCECE Exam is a Pen and Paper-Based exam. The JCECE Question Paper comprises 150 Multiple-Choice Questions. And the Question will be in both Hindi and English language. 

For each correct answer, 1 mark will be added and for each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total.

Each paper is given in different slots. First 1 hour for Biology Exam (9:00 AM To 10:00 AM). Followed by 2 hours of Physics and Chemistry Exam (10:15 AM To 12:15 PM). They allow the last hour for the Mathematics Exam (12:30 PM To 1:30 PM).

In between 3 exams, there is a 15 minutes break (total 30 minutes).

Admit Card

The applicants can download the JCECE 2019 Admit Card from the official website of JCECE from June 12, 2019.

To download the Admit Card, the candidates have to enter the Application Form Number, Password and a Security Pin and log in.

Applicants should carry the Admit Card to the Exam Centre, without which they will not be allowed to write the exam. 

How to Download JCECE Admit Card?

The candidates can follow the steps given below to Download the JCECE Admit Card from the official website:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website
  • Step 2: And click on the Admit Card link
  • Step 3: Enter Registration Number and Password to log in
  • Step 4: Download and take a Printout of the Application Form.

Exam Centre

The JCECE Exam is a State level entrance exam. It is conducted in the Cities of Jharkhand. They will conduct JCECE 2019 at following Cities of Jharkhand:

  • Hazaribagh
  • Dhanbad
  • Ranchi
  • Bokaro
  • Dumka
  • Jamshedpur

The applicants can choose any two centres from the list to appear for this merit exam and the Board will make the final allotment of the centre. Finally, the candidates will be assigned with only one Exam Centre.

The test time and venue will be printed on the JCECE 2019 Admit Card.

Documents Required on JCECE Exam Day

The following are the Documents which a candidate has to carry to the JCECE Exam Hall:

Results

The JCECE Board will evaluate the answer sheets and will declare the JCECE 2019 Results only on the official website of JCECEB on June 30, 2019.

The scorecard will have both the subject-wise score and also the total score obtained by the candidate along with the rank secured by the candidate in the entrance exam.

The JCECE Board will release both the Combined Merit List and the category-wise list on its official website.

The candidates should take a printout of the scorecard as they will require it in the Counselling, Admission purpose or for further correspondence if any.

How to Download JCECE Result?

The candidates can follow the steps given below to Download the JCECE Results from the official website:

  • Step 1: Go to the official website
  • Step 2: Click on the Result link
  • Step 3: Enter your Roll Number
  • Step 4: Click on the Submit button
  • Step 5: Download and take a Printout of the Result

Cutoff

The JCECE Cutoff is the minimum rank that a candidate has to score to get admission into any course offered through JCECE. 

The Rank List will be released after the announcement of JCECE Exam Results. If some candidates have scored the same marks based on the course they have applied for, the Ranks will be evaluated.

There is Mark wise cutoff which will be released by the JCECE Board they are as follows:

Selection Process

There will be a minimum Cutoff mark for every course. The candidates who have obtained the Rank that is eligible for Admission will be called for the Counselling Process. 

Only the candidates who satisfy all the Eligibility Criteria will be given Admission to the courses they have applied for.

Counselling

The JCECE Board will begin the Counselling Process from July 8, 2019. After the declaration of the results, a merit list will be prepared which contains the candidate's name who is eligible to attend the JCECE Counselling Process

The Counselling will be conducted in two rounds. If seats remain vacant in the first round, they will conduct a second round to fill them.

Document verification will be done on the day of counselling and it requires candidates to get all the original documents for verification.

  • JCECE Scorecard
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Category Certificate

The candidates who are aspiring to write JCECE can follow the important Preparation tips given below:

  • Go through the JCECE Syllabus before you start Preparing for the exam.
  • Focus on all the Subjects it will help you get good Rank.
  • Plan your everyday activity it will help you to manage time.
  • Prepare notes whenever you are studying and refer to it when you are revising.
  • There are a lot of study materials available refer to it to cover the whole Syllabus.
  • Take mock tests frequently and assess your Performance.
  • For better Results do proper revision before the exam.

In case of Jharkhand combined competitive examination, I have JCECE rank and it was 2000 and category rank is 88. So I get admission in bit Sindri in the mechanical engineering department. It is 4 years course.

  • The eligibility criteria in Birsa Institute of Technology, Dhanbad is you must be a PCM student and you must apply for JCECE. The best college through this exam is Birsa Institute of Technology which has discipline. 
  • The Entrance examination for Birsa Institute of Technology is JCECE.
  • I got 85 /150 and took Chemical engineering but Information Technology was also available. In order to get mechanical or electrical engineering, The cutoff for General category is 95-100 marks.

The Application Form Fees to JCECE differs by the former science group and caste set as criteria's. They are:

  • The Application Form fees for JCECE 2017 for the SC/ST group for PCM is Rs. 550 and for PCB is Rs. 650.

  • The Application Form fees for JCECE 2017 for the General/BC-1/BC-2 for PCM is Rs. 1100 and for PCB group is Rs. 1200.
