  • All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) is a very popular test conducted by the Veterinary Council of India.

  • The test is conducted for the candidates seeking admissions into the programs B.V.SC. and A.H. The seats that get filled through this test comprises of 15% of Pan India (the state of Jammu and Kashmir is an exception) and 85% of the state quota seats in the respective states.

  • The application form for AIPVT 2020 will be available from November 3, 2019.

  • The admit card for AIPVT 2020 will be available from April 14, 2020.

  • The exam takes place once in a year and the application process starts from the second week of January.

  • AIPVT will be taking place on May 3, 2020.

  • The candidates who desire to take admissions in the well-respected program can have all the information about the test in this article in regards to the eligibility, exam dates, results, counselling, and the admission process and the syllabus on which the test will be based.

  • Through AIPVT, Veterinary Council of India (VCI) offers admission for B.V. Sc. and Animal husbandry Courses under 15% All India Quota and the rest of 85 % under the state wise quota of the participating colleges.

AIPVT is now replaced by NEET. The Decision was taken by the council in 2017. NEET is conducted by C.B.S.E.

Latest Updates on AIPVT 2020:

  • In the official notice released by the VCI, it is clearly mentioned that the candidates seek admission into the program BVSc & AH under 15% All India Quota, will have to appear in NEET 2020.

  • To appear in NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test), the concerned students are advised to go through the NEET 2020 details.

  • According to the official notification released by the VCI, most probably, this year the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) will use the merit list of NEET 2020 for the seat allocation process in all the recognized veterinary colleges (except Jammu and Kashmir).

You won't find the AIPVT 2017 Official Website because, from this year onwards, the All India Pre Veterinary Test [AIPVT] has been merged with the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET].

So, aspiring candidates should go to the Official Website for NEET to make registrations to get a chance at the Veterinary Institutes in India.

The Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 (52 of 1984) was enacted in 1984 and was published in the Extraordinary Gazette of India dated 21st August,1984 to regulate veterinary practice and to provide for that purpose, for the establishment of Veterinary Council of India and State Veterinary Councils and maintenance of Registers of veterinary practitioners and for matters connected therewith. Subsequent to the enactment of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, the Central Government (Ministry of Agriculture) vide Gazette Notification dated August 2nd, 1989 for the first time constituted the Veterinary Council of India by nominating the Members as per the provisions of section 4 read with section 3 of the Act.

The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota Seats is 25 years.
