Admission Procedure of the University of Massachusetts, Boston

Students can check the progress of their application at any time after they submit it. Processing and updating the status site for hardcopy papers can take up to 10 business days. Request electronic test results at least two to three weeks before the program's deadline. Students will receive an email when their decision letter is ready to view on your application site. Following are the further steps to be followed by admitted students at the University of Massachusetts, Boston:

  • All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation. Orientation is where they will have the chance to meet fellow classmates, register for classes, and familiarize themselves with university resources
  • After they have submitted their enrollment deposit, log into Beacon Gateway and click on the 'Events' tab in order to register for Fall Semester Orientation
  • If planning to live on campus, after submitting a $300 housing reservation fee, log back into Beacon Gateway to access the student housing application
  • All UMass Boston students are required to participate in a qualifying health insurance program. Students may waive their university-provided health insurance if they can provide proof of comparable coverage
