NLC Center of Excellence

Northern Lights College is B.C.’s Energy College in northern British Columbia. NLC is a Center of Excellence for British Columbia for 3 areas of training which are Oil and Gas, Clean Energy Technology, and Aerospace. NLC also offers a wide variety of programs in its British Columbia area. 

  • Oil and Gas: NLC offers the Oil and Gas training which is based at the Fort St. John Campus.
  • Clean Energy Technology: Clean Energy Technology programs are based at the Dawson Creek Campus.
  • Aerospace: Aerospace programs are offered by the Dawson Creek Campus of NLC. Approximately 17 students enrolled each year in its Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Basic training program.

How can I get into Northern Lights College?

The admission requirements for international students may vary by program. If NLU accepts your application and you meet all the required criteria, NLU will send you an offer letter. To confirm your seat, you need to pay a deposit fee of $5,000. After that, you will receive a letter of acceptance and you can apply for the Canada study permit.

Application Details for International Students at NLU

Northern Lights College has three intakes for each semester - September, January, and May. You should submit your application from 6 months prior to your intended start date. The start date may vary by program. Each program has its own requirements related to credentials and English language test scores. You need to complete the online form and submit it along with the required documents which are transcripts, English language test scores, and a copy of the photo page of your passport.

The international tuition cost of NLU varies depending upon the program and the duration or credit hours/ contact hours. The tuition fee may be waived for students aged 65 years or older. The international tuition fee of the academic program is approximately $332.00/credit. The Career and College prep program's tuition fee is approximately $11.06/contact hour.
