How long does it take to get accepted to NAIT?

The application processing time for NAIT applications is around four to six weeks. NAIT’s admissions team is dedicated to processing applications in a timely manner. The processing time varies based on the volume of applications, the number of applicants on the waitlist, and the time of the year.

3.

Does NAIT admit students on a first-come, first-serve basis?

If your course includes “Competitive Entrance” under the requirements, it follows the “Competitive Entrance” admission process. Candidates who are deemed competitive get admission on a first-come, first-serve basis until the seats are full. Once the program is full, the university places the qualified candidates on a waitlist.

4.

When does NAIT offer admission off of a waitlist?

Waitlisted applicants are offered admission as and when the seats become available. This can take place at any time during the application cycle. In some instances, waitlisted candidates may receive an offer even after the program has started. Therefore, they should be ready to accept an offer of admission at any time.

5.

Can students improve their spots on the waitlist?

Applicants to competitive programs can upgrade courses or take a NAIT equivalency test in order to improve their competitive average. A re-review of the application takes place when upgraded or new marks are received, potentially improving the waitlist position. In addition, applicants need to upload proof of enrollment and marks from their progress report to their MyNAIT Portal in the case of upgrading courses.
