College of the Rockies was founded in 1975 as a community college in the East of Cranbrook to provide vocational, technical, and academic courses. Later in 1995, the name of the college was changed to 'Rockies College'. The Rockies was ranked as the first college in Canada for foreign students with general student satisfaction. According to the International Graduate Insight Group Rankings, based on the feedback from foreign students from 183 postgraduate institutions in 18 countries around the world, Rockies College is ranked number one in four benchmarks: arrival, study, accommodation, and support experience.
