Lastly, section E, which will consist of long answer types questions, will consist of 15 marks.

What is the CBSE Class 12th Biology Exam Pattern?
The CBSE Class 12 Biology Exam Pattern for 2026 is designed to evaluate your knowledge and understanding of concepts, analytical skills, and applicability of concepts and knowledge. The theory paper carries a weightage of 70 marks and will contain five sections - A to E which will comprise a total of 33 questions in various formats. The question paper will be in some combination of MCQs, very short, short, case-based and long answer type questions with option of internal choice in some of the questions. Besides the theory examination, you are also expected to appear for a practical examination which carries a weightage of 30 marks. This takes the subject total to 100 marks.
