The CHSE has released a new marking scheme for the Odisha 12th board exams for the academic year 2026. Students are now required to secure a minimum of 30% in both theory and practical exams for all subjects to pass. For subjects without a practical component, the passing mark for an 80-mark theory paper is 24. Meanwhile, for subjects with practicals, students need 21 marks in the 70-mark theory paper and 9 marks in the 30-mark practical exam. Students failing to achieve this 30% threshold in any component will be considered as failed.

In this academic year, the CHSE has released a new marking scheme for the 12th board exams. According to this new marking scheme, the passing marks for the 12th boards are 30%. The students need to score a minimum of 30% in both theory and practical exams of all subjects to pass the CHSE Odisha Exam 2026.
For students without practical subjects, the total marks for the theory paper are 80, and the passing marks are 24, while for students with practical subjects, the total marks are 70, and the passing marks are 21. The remaining marks will be allotted through internal assessment. The students scoring less than 30% will be considered as failed.
