In the science stream of Bihar Board 12th theory exams, chemistry, physics, and biology are conducted for 70 total marks out of which 21 are passing marks. In other subjects, the passing marks are 30 out of 100 total marks and 15 out of 50 marks.

Bihar Board 12th grading system 2026 has 9 point grading system. The grades will be awarded based on the student’s marks in individual subjects. Based on a student’s performance in each subject an overall grade is calculated. An A1 grade is considered an outstanding grade and grades E1 and E2 are considered poor grades which means students need improvement and may have to re-appear for the exam again.

Based on the student’s overall score in Bihar Board 12th results 2026, the division is calculated. If the marks of the student are 300 or above, this means that the student who pass with the first division. If the overall marks of the student are in the range of 225 to 229, the student is passed with second division, and so on. Equal to 149 marks and below, means that the student fails and has to appear for a supplementary exam to pass.
