The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) will declare the class 10th and 12th results on the official website at results.nios.ac.in. The results for the March/April session for NIOS 10th and 12th will be declared in June 2026 (tentative). Students can use their enrollment numbers to download the scorecards. Additionally, students can also avail the facility of checking results from SMS and DigiLocker.

The results will be available for all those who appeared for the March/April session of the NIOS board exam 2026. Students must note that the official marksheet will be allotted a few days after the declaration of results. How to Check NIOS Board Result 2026 Online?

The process of downloading the NIOS results for both classes is similar. Listed below is a step-by-step guide to check and download the NIOS Board results online.

• Step 1: Students must visit the official website of NIOS at results.nios.ac.in.
• Step 2: Students then have to select the class they want to download the results for.
• Step 3: The next step is to enter their 'Enrollment Number' and click on the 'Submit' button.
• Step 3: The NIOS Board results will be displayed on the screen.
• Step 4: Students can now download and save the result for future reference.

How to Check NIOS Result for Class 10th/12th Using Digilocker?

The Board also releases the results on the DigiLocker platform for ease of reference. Here is a step-wise guide to download NIOS results using the same.

• Step 1: Students have to register on the DigiLocker platform.
• Step 2: There is a 'Sign In' tab in the upper right-hand corner and a 'Sign Up' tab beside it. The 'Sign Up' option is for new users and the 'Sign In' for the existing ones.
• Step 3: Students then need to enter their mobile number and their Aadhaar Card number linked to an active mobile number. 
• Step 4: Students will receive an OTP on their registered mobile number.
• Step 5: Once students successfully enter the OTP, they will be asked to create a new DigiLocker account. Students will need to provide the following information for NIOS 12th result 2026 and NIOS result 2026 class 10:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Email ID

NIOS Board Result 2026 Details

NIOS result sheet will contain the following information, and students should verify all the details. If any mistake is found, then they must connect with the NIOS office for immediate rectification. Candidates must take care of the following details in the NIOS result 2026:

NIOS has announced that a single open board result document will be announced instead of the mark sheet, provisional certificate, and final pass certificate.

• In the new document, the "PASS" word will appear, and four crosses will be there if the candidate fails the exam.
• The term "fail" will not be mentioned in the document.
• In case of improvement, the same document will be issued indicating PASS 'Appeared for Improvement'.
• This will also be applicable for any previous students applying for duplicate or correction in the document as well.
• Moreover, the institute will issue transfer-cum-migration certificates separately to the successful learners.

NIOS Board Result 2026 Rechecking/Revaluation

The board is also allowing the re-checking and re-totalling of marks for class 10th and 12th students only. Candidates who appeared for NIOS class 12 exams may apply for re-totalling if they are unsatisfied with their marks. 

• The application forms will be released on the official website after two weeks of result declaration.
• INR 50/- is the charge for re-checking per subject.
• Rs. 1000/- per subject (for On Demand Examination). 
• The increase in marks should be at least 5% or more to be reflected on the NIOS class 12 result mark sheet. 

On-Demand Examination System (ODES)

The learner has the option to appear in the examination through NIOS On-Demand Examination System (ODES). Suppose the learner is already a registered learner of NIOS at the secondary or senior secondary level, they can appear in the examination through ODES as per their wish and preparation. However, they are subject to the availability of seats in the examination centre.

Registration for On-Demand NIOS Examination (ODE)

To avail of the On-Demand Examination System (ODES) facility, the learner must be a registered bonafide learner of NIOS, having the enrollment number and a valid identity card. Only online registration is available for ODES for existing learners.

To know the ODE registration procedure, you may visit the NIOS website nios.ac.in (click on On-Demand Examination) link under the "Information About" section. After that, click on online ODE registration for existing learners).

The examination fee for ODE is as under :

• Secondary level Rs.500/- + Rs.200/- extra for a subject involving practicals.
• Senior secondary level Rs.500/- + Rs.200/- extra for a subject involving practicals.

A candidate can appear for ODE at the concerned regional centre or NIOS headquarters, Noida or in the concerned Kendriya Vidyalaya.

For example:

• Delhi region learners can appear for ODE at NIOS headquarters, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
• The overseas learner can appear from any of the ODE centres in NIOS.
• The on-demand examination fee can be paid either through credit card, debit card, or net banking.
• Only for overall passed candidates will the mark sheets and other documents be prepared by the M&M unit, Department of Evaluation, NIOS.
• They will be sent to the concerned regional centres for despatch to individual learners.

Other learners wanting a Mark Sheet can send their requests through an application attaching a bank draft of Rs. 100/- in favour of 'Secretary, NIOS', payable at Noida to the Assistant Director (M&M Unit), National Institute of Open Schooling, A-24-25, Institutional Area, Sector-62, Noida-201309, Uttar Pradesh. ODE online registration is not permitted twice a month in a particular subject.

NOTE: NIOS does not issue any School Leave/Bonafide/Date of Birth/Transfer/Character Certificate separately to its learners.

Issue of Marksheets and Certificates

The candidate shall receive a mark sheet on the NIOS result 2026 class 12 and class 10 declaration through their AI.

• Provisional and migration certificates will be issued to successful learners only.
• The pass certificate will be issued about six months after the declaration of the result.
• No fresh migration or pass certificate will be issued if the candidates pass in the additional subject(s) or improve performance in one or more subjects.
• Only the learner will be issued a mark sheet. Migration certificates will not be issued to learners unless they complete their course of study.

Note: If the learner notices any discrepancy in the result after the declaration of the result of the public examination/on-demand examination, they will have to apply for the same to the concerned regional director. Learners should do this within 30 days of the declaration of the NIOS 10th result 2026 and the NIOS 12th result 2026.
