JAC Board 12th Grading System

The JAC board's 12th-grade grading system incorporates 4 divisions. Students scoring above 75% marks in aggregate fall under the distinction division. There are a total of 5 grades in the grading system that are awarded to the students based on their performance in the JAC board 12th board exams. The grade range lies between A+ and D. The total marks for the curriculum are 500. For distinction division, a student needs to score 375 marks out of 500 marks. The same will be reflected in the marksheet.

The grading system is a 5 scale mechanism. Students who score 375 marks and above are awarded the distinction division, that is, on scoring 75% marks in aggregate, and they receive an A+ grade. Students scoring less than 33% in aggregate, i.e less than 165 marks, will be given a D grade and they will be considered as failing.

The result of the board exams will be available online on the official website of the JAC board. However, this result will be provisional. The original marksheet will be given one week after the declaration of the result.

Provision for Grace Marks

The board has made it easier for students as there is a provision for grace marks in the JAC 12th board exams. The students who fail by a slight margin can be considered passed by giving them marks based on the criteria

  1. The grace marks will be given to the students who fail the subject by less than 5% marks.
  2. In case a student fails in two subjects, securing less than 3% marks in each, then he/she shall be provided with the grace marks and considered to have passed both the subjects.
  3. A student who does not fall under the grace marks criteria, but can be awarded a higher division by giving no more than 5 marks, shall be given the grace marks and awarded a higher division.
