HPBOSE 10th Passing Marks: Check HPBOSE Class 10 Passing Maximum and Minimum Marks

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) will conduct the HPBOSE class 10 exam in March 2026. These exams are expected to be conducted between March 04 and 22, 2026.
The results of these exams will be announced in May 2026 (tentatively). HPBOSE 10th Passing Marks 2026
The passing marks for the HPBOSE 10th board exams are 33%.To pass, students must receive at least 33% in each subject. The total marks are calculated after adding the theory, practical and internal assessment marks. A student will be considered 'failed' if his/her marks are less than 33%. Apart from receiving 33% in all subjects, the student must also attain a minimum of 33% as the average percentage.

HPBOSE 10th Passing Marks 2026: Grading System
The students are also allotted grades according to the marks obtained. The students must also receive a passing grade in all the subjects to pass the board exams. Students are given grades that range from A1 to E2. The HPBOSE 10th Grading system has nine grades in all, ranging from A1 to E2. The best possible mark for a student is A1, and the lowest possible grade is E2.
A student's grades are determined by adding up both theory and practical marks. To pass the board exams, students need to receive at least a grade D. Students getting grade E1 and grade E2 are considered as failed. The following table describes the HPBOSE 10th Grading System 2026 in detail.

HPBOSE 10th Passing Marks 2026: Compartment Exams
If a student is not able to get passing marks in one or more subjects, he/she can apply for the HPBOSE 10th compartment exams. The compartment exams give a second chance to the students to score passing marks and clear the board exams. The Himachal Pradesh Board Of School Education (HPBOSE) is going to conduct the compartment exams in July 2026 (tentatively). To apply for the compartment exams, students must first fill out the application form on the official website at hpbose.org and then pay a nominal fee.
The results of the compartment exams will be declared in August 2026 (tentatively). The students must receive passing marks in the compartment exams also otherwise they will have to give the board exams again in the following year. The passing marks for the supplementary exams are also 33%.
