MBSE HSLC Passing Marks: The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) has set the MBSE HSLC passing marks to be 33% in theory and practical. Students are required to obtain the minimum passing marks to qualify for admission to the next class. Students who fail to obtain the required passing marks in the MBSE HSLC examination 2026 can appear for the MBSE HSLC supplementary exam 2026 to improve their scores.

MBSE HSLC Passing Marks
A score of 33% or higher is required to pass the MBSE HSLC Examination. Both the theory and practical sections must be passed separately for students to qualify. Students need to appear in a total of six subjects for the examination. Students must take
- English
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Science
- Mizo (or an equivalent language for non-Mizo students), and
- One elective subject.
Elective subject varies among institutions depending on resources and faculty. Students can choose from the following elective subjects: Introductory Information Technology (IIT), Bookkeeping & Accountancy, Home Science, Commercial Studies, Music, Health & Physical Education, and Civics.
Subjects with an 80+20 marking structure require a minimum of 26 marks in the theory exam and 7 marks in the practical/internal assessment to pass. In science subjects, the theory is worth 70 marks and the practicals 30 marks, with a minimum passing requirement of 23 marks in theory and 10 marks in practicals.

MBSE HSLC Grading System
The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) uses a grade scale to evaluate students, with grades that range from A1 to F. Students who score between 90-100 are assigned an A1 grade, while those who score below 33% receive an F grade. These students must appear for the supplementary exam. To qualify, students must achieve a minimum of 33% in each subject as well as 33% in the overall aggregate.
Students are also categorized according to the division system.Those who score above 75% are awarded a distinction, while students who score between 60% and 75% are considered first division pass-outs. Students with scores between 50% and 59% are categorized as second division pass-outs, and those who score between 33% and 49% fall under the third division category.

MBSE HSLC Passing Marks: Grace Marks
The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) offers grace marks to students who do not meet the 33% requirement.
- If a student is short by 1-2 marks in any subject, they will be awarded up to 2 grace marks per subject to help them pass.
- If a student fails in only one subject, they can receive up to 12 grace marks to pass the examination.
- If a student fails in two subjects, and the total shortage across both is 12 marks or less, the grace marks can be split between the two subjects to help them pass.
These grace marks are designed to provide students with a second chance when they are close to passing, without compromising the integrity of the exam

MBSE HSLC Passing Marks: Revaluation and Compartment Exam
Students who feel dissatisfied with their results have the option to apply for revaluation. The revaluation process begins immediately after the main results are announced. Revaluation can only be requested after registration, which can be completed on the official MBSE website. A fee of 500 rupees per subject is required for revaluation, and the revaluation marks will be considered final.
The compartment exam will be held in June 2026, after the declaration of the main results. Students who fail or do not achieve a minimum of 33% in one or more subjects will need to appear for the compartment exam. The results of the compartment exam are anticipated to be announced in July 2026.
