Goa Board HSSC passing marks vary for theory and practical exams. Theory exams are conducted with either 80, 70, or 100 marks, out of which 26, 23, and 33 are passing marks, respectively. The practical exams or internal assessments are conducted for 30 or 20 marks, out of which the passing marks are 10 and 7, respectively.

The Goa Board HSSC exam is conducted for science, arts, and commerce streams. Some subjects also have practical exams or internal assessment sections, so their passing marks are decided accordingly.
The Goa Board HSSC passing marks are 33 out of 100 for language subjects and Mathematics, as they do not include practical or internal assessments. Subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Biology have 23 as passing marks out of 70 maximum marks. The Goa Board also awards grades to students, along with passing marks. According to the Goa Board HSSC Grading System, the highest grade awarded to students is A when they score marks between 90% and above. The lowest grade awarded to students is G, upon receiving which the student is considered to have failed.

The results of students are classified in three divisions, first, second, and third, based on the marks obtained by students. Students who score a total marks in all subjects equal to 300 or above are in the first division, and if their total marks are less than 150, they are considered to have failed. In the Goa Board HSSC exam, condonation or grace marks are given to students who fail by just one or two marks in one or two subjects. Students who fall short of the required marks are not given condonation or grace marks.
There is a limit to how many grace marks or condonation marks a student can receive in an exam. Usually, the maximum allowed is 6 marks total for the entire exam, not per subject or paper.

Goa Board HSSC supplementary exams are conducted for those students who fail in one or two subjects so that they get a chance to improve their marks. This year, the supplementary exams are scheduled from April 21 to May 2, 2026. The Goa Board HSSC supplementary results 2026 will be declared tentatively in July 2026.
For the supplementary exam, students have to register for the exam separately and pay the required fees.
