JKBOSE 12th Passing Marks 2026: The Jammu Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) is currently conducting the 12th board exams for the hard zones. The exams are being held between November 8 and December 3, 2025. The results of the JKBOSE Class 12 Exam 2026 will be out in June 2026 (tentative).

The passing marks differ for different subjects. A student must attain a minimum 33% in General English and a minimum of 36% in the other four subjects, which the student has opted for, to pass in the exams. The total percentage is calculated based on marks obtained in both theory and practical exams. If a student is unable to get the passing marks they will be considered as fail. The Jammu and Kashmir board also follows the grading system in which students are allotted certain grades according to the marks obtained by them. The grading system is divided into 7 grades ranging from A to G. A is the highest grade while G is the lowest grade. Students with a grade F and a grade G are considered as failures. The grading system of JKBOSE 12th boards is described in the table down below:

After the results are out, some students may not be satisfied with their marks. Those students can apply for the revaluation of their answer sheets. The students can apply for revaluation through the official website of Jammu Kashmir Board Of School Education (JKBOSE) jkbose.nic.in. The students must obtain a minimum of 20% to apply for revaluation. Students obtaining marks less than 20% are not eligible for applying.
The students will have to pay a nominal fee to apply for revaluation. The fees which the students have to pay are INR 495 per subject for the application of revaluation. If the students want to get the photocopy of their answer sheet, they need to pay Rs. 255 per subject. The result of the rechecked copies will be declared in July 2026 (tentative). The marks may increase, decrease or even stay the same. This result will be final and the students cannot apply again for revaluation.
If the students are not able to get passing marks in any subject, they become eligible to sit in the JKBOSE 12th supplementary exams conducted by the board. The compartment exams provide a second chance to the students who fail in one or more subjects. The students are allowed to give the compartment exams for only two subjects. After the declaration of the results, the students can apply for the compartment exams on the board's official website.
The compartment exams will be conducted in July 2026 (tentative) and the results for these exams will be declared in August 2026 (tentative). If a student does not score passing marks in the compartment exam too, he/she will have to repeat the class and give the 12th boards in the following academic year.
The Jammu and Kashmir board has a provision for notional marks for the students who fail by a very small margin. These notional marks are a kind of grace marks for students. If a student is failing in one or more subjects by only 5 marks, he/she will be given the required marks to pass. These marks will not be added to the subject marks or total aggregate marks but will be directly provided to the student. The notional marks do not apply to practical marks.
