The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has designed the MBOSE class 12th grading system comprises grades from A1 to F, where the A1 grade is considered the top grade, while F is the lowest grade. Students who receive a grade of F are considered to have failed in that subject.

While students who fail to obtain the required passing marks in a subject or two can appear for the MBOSE HSSLC supplementary exam, students who fail in more than 2 subjects will have to repeat the class. The grade D is the minimum passing grade, which translates to marks between 34 and 40. The grades, grade points, and marks are mentioned in the students' mark sheets. Students will also receive grades in internal assessments and practical exams.

Students should check the MBOSE HSSLC grading system at the beginning of their session, as this will help them know how much effort they need to put into a particular subject to get passing grades. This way, they can direct their preparation for each subject according to their weak and strong areas.
