The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) has officially released the GSEB HSC Practical Exam Date Sheet 2026 on October 15, 2025, on its official website at gseb.org. The GSEB HSC theory Exam 2026 will be conducted between February 26 To March 18, 2026. The GSEB HSC Practical Exam board examinations for Class 12 (Higher Secondary Certificate) will be conducted on any date between February 5 and 13, 2026. The GSEB HSC Exam 2026 will be conducted for all streams, i.e., Science, General, Commerce, Arts, and Vocational. The exams are conducted in two steps: one is practical/internal assessments, and theory/written examinations. Practical exams for certain subjects, such as Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), are conducted before the main theory examinations, during mid-February 2026.

There will be one annual board examination for Class 12 students. GSEB HSC Exam Phases: Practical vs Theory

The GSEB HSC (Class 12) Practical Exams 2026 are conducted for Science, Vocational, and certain elective subjects. The practical examinations for HSC students will be conducted in early February 5, 2026. Practical subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Applications, and other lab-based courses. Practical exams are scheduled by schools individually around February 5, 2026. The Theory Exams will be conducted in a single phase from February 26, 2026.

These written exams are conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and last for three hours per subject. Theory papers usually carry 80 marks, while practical marks per subject are 20. Students must score a minimum passing mark of 33% in both the theory and the practical components to qualify for the exam.

Important Instructions for GSEB HSC Students

Candidates must follow a few instructions before appearing for the GSEB HSC practical exams 2026:

On the day of the exam, students must carry the admit card to the exam hall compulsorily; failing to do so will result in their not being allowed to sit in the exam. Along with it, carry your school ID as well.
You must go through the syllabus and prepare accordingly.
Reach the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
Don’t carry electronic devices like a calculator, mobile phones to the exam hall.
Try to solve previous year papers to get clarity on the exam pattern.
