Odisha CHSE Grading System 2026: Check Marking System, Exam Pattern, CGPA and Percentage Calculator

The Odisha CHSE 2026 exam employs a 9-point grading system, ranging from A1 (Outstanding) to E2 (Needs Improvement), replacing traditional divisions. Students must achieve a minimum of 30 percent in both theory and practical examinations for all subjects to pass. An A1 grade is awarded for scores above 91 percent. If a student scores below 33 percent, they will be required to appear for supplementary exams.

The Odisha CHSE rewards students not only with marks but with a grading system too.  It has a 9-point grading system ranging from A1 to E2. This marking system is issued by the Council of Higher Education, Odisha. Those who score above 91 percent secure an A1 grade, and according to the new marking scheme, one needs to score at least 30 percent in all subjects (both in theory and practical examination ).

In the CHSE Odisha Exam 2026, students are rewarded on the basis of grades; no divisions are given. Those who score below the minimum percentage 3of 3 percent will have to appear for the supplementary exams.

The Odisha CHSE grading system is divided as per the following rules:

  • A1 (Outstanding): 91% – 100%
  • A2 (Excellent): 81% – 90%
  • B1 (Very Good): 71% – 80%
  • B2 (Good): 61% – 70%
  • C1 (Average): 51% – 60%
  • C2 (Fair): 41% – 50%
  • D (Satisfactory): 33% – 40%
  • E1 (Needs Improvement): 21% – 32%
  • E2 (Needs Improvement): 00% – 20

Odisha CHSE Passing Marks Subject-Wise 

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, has set the minimum passing marks of 30 percent across all streams of science, commerce, arts, and vocational subjects.

  • For Theory-based subjects, one needs to score a minimum of 24 out of 80, which is 30% as per Odisha CHSE Passing Marks. The remaining 20 are given on the basis of internal exams in school. Theory-based subjects include maths, accountancy, history, etc
  • For Practical subjects, one needs to score a minimum of 21 out of 70 and 9 out of 30, that is 30 % both in theory and practical papers separately. Practical papers include physics, chemistry, biology, geography, psychology, etc
  • For vocational-based subjects, one needs to score 12 out of 40 in theory and 18 out of 60 in practical to pass the examination.

Odisha CHSE Supplementary / Complementary Marks 

The results of Odisha CHSE are usually declared in the third week of May on the official website. Students need to have access to their admit card with important credentials to log in to the website. 

Students who fail to score a minimum of 30 percent need to appear for the Odisha CHSE Supplementary Exam 2026. The supplementary exams are usually held in the month of August, 2026 (tentative), with compartment exam dates released in the month of July (tentative). The supplementary exam dates are released in the month of September, tentatively.
