What is VITEEE?

The full form of VITEEE is Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam. It is an entrance exam for admission in various campuses of VIT. Vellore Institute of Technology conducts VITEEE 2020. VIT University was formerly known as Vellore Engineering College. VIT is a private university which is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, India. It offers 34 postgraduate, 20 undergraduate, four research and four integrated programs.

Level: VITEEE 2020 is a university level examination. VIT conducts VITEEE 2020 in 116 cities across India.

Frequency: VIT conducts VITEEE once a year, in April or May.

Courses: The conducting authority offers admission into various B.Tech courses through VITEEE 2020.

Schedule: VITEEE Exam will start from April 10, 2020 and ends on April 21, 2020. candidates can book a test slot and download the admit card from March 25, 2020.

Eligibility

VIT will conduct VITEEE 2020 exam and will set the eligibility criteria for the exam. Candidates must clear the eligibility criteria else they will be subject to rejection. Some of the eligibility criteria are:

  • Minimum marks for General: Candidates should have an aggregate score of 60% in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Biology in their 12th. Candidates from NIOS are also eligible to appear in VITEE 2020. The PCBE/PCME Combined marks should be above 50%.
  • Minimum marks for SC/ST: Candidates from SC/ST caste or North-East India should have an aggregate score of 50%.
  • Age Limit: Candidates born on or after 1st July 1997 are eligible for VITEEE 2020. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 1st July of the Admission year(2020).

Syllabus

VIT tests candidates' strength in subjects which they opted in 10+2 or equivalent exam. Therefore VITEEE syllabus will be close to the syllabus of 10+2 subjects. Subjects for VITEEE 2020 are Physics, Chemistry, Maths/Biology, and English.

Difficulty Level: Questions asked in VITEEE 2020 are from XI and XII syllabus. VITEEE 2020 will focus on testing the candidate's understanding and analytical approach towards the subjects in XI to XII.

Registration

Candidates can register for the exam through online and offline application form. VIT 2020 Application Form will be released on the official website from September 27, 2019 (tentative). Candidates will have to apply for the exam before February 29, 2020 (tentative). Various information about VITEEE 2020 Registration, VITEEE Application Form and documents required are given below.

How to apply for VITEEE Exam?

VIT has released both online and offline application form for the exam. You can register through any one of the application forms.

Steps to Apply Online

Steps to fill Online VITEEE 2020 Registration Form are given below. Please go through each of them to have a clarity of filling the form.

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of VIT.
  • Step 2: Once you are on the official website, click on "New Applicant" icon.
  • Step 3: You will be redirected to the registration page. Enter all the required details. Now you will receive login credentials through your registered email ID.
  • Step 4: Login using the credentials and fill all the required details.
  • Step 5: Select a payment method for paying the application fee.
  • Step 6: Upload photo and signature.

Steps to Apply Offline

Steps to fill VITEEE 2020 Application Form via offline process are given below. Please have a look.

  • Step 1: Purchase the application form from one of the VIT Campus.
  • Step 2: Fill up all the details and then proofread it once.
  • Step 3: Send the VITEEE 2020 Application Form through registered post or speed post. Application form should reach VIT before February 29, 2020.

VITEEE 2020 Application Form Details

The application form is available both in online and offline mode. Candidates have to fill various forms details before submitting it. Some of the important details which candidates need to be aware of are:

  • Application Availability: Application forms will be issued from September 27, 2019. Eligible candidates should submit an online or offline application form, which is available on the official VIT University website. The deadline for submitting the application form is February 29, 2020. 
  • Application Fee: If you are making the payment through online mode then the fee is INR 1150/- and if you are paying through offline then the fee is 1200/-.
  • Dimension and size of the scanned image: Dimensions of the recent photograph of candidates should be 3.5 cm X 4.5 cm and size should be between 10kb to 200kb.
  • Dimension and size of signature: Image size of the signature should be between 10kb to 200kb and dimensions should be 3.5 cm X 1.5 cm.

Documents required to apply for VITEEE

Candidates should have the following documents when applying for VIT Entrance Exam.

  • 10th standard Marks Card.
  • 12th standard marks card (if available).
  • Income Tax certificate.
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Scanned image of recent Photographs of the candidate.
  • Scanned image of the candidate's signature.
  • Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking/Demand Draft for payment.

Exam Pattern

Candidates should be aware of the VITEEE new Paper Pattern to plan and prepare well for the exam. Some of the important details are:

  • Mode: VITEEE 2020 is a purely computer-based test. The questions are multiple-choice questions.

  • Duration: Duration of VITEEE 2020 is 2 hours 30 minutes and there will not be any negative marking.

  • Sections: As per the new notification released by VIT, the number of questions for each section has been changed and now Maths/ Biology consists of 40 questions, 35 questions from Physics & Chemistry, 10 questions from Aptitude & 5 questions from English.

VITEEE 2020 Admit Card

All candidates who have applied for the VITEEE test will have to download the admit card from the official website. VITEEE Hall Ticket is expected to be released in March. Every eligible student must complete the slot booking process to get the admit card for VIT Exam.
Admit Card is a mandatory document and the candidates must carry it to the exam hall. VITEEE 2020 admit card will have the following details on it.

VITEEE Slot Booking Guide

Candidates should book an exam slot which is convenient for them. They can choose an exam centre and the time slot of their preference. Some of the information which the candidate should know are:

  • OTBS: If candidate's applications are accepted by the institution then they can book their slots online for VITEEE 2020 exam through Online Test Booking System (OTBS).

  • Slot dates: Slot booking for VITEEE 2020 starts from September 27, 2019. To get access to online slot booking system, VITEEE candidates need to enter their application number and password given by VIT University. 

  • Slot selection: Candidates can select exam centre, dates, and timings according to their preferences. It is recommended to choose slots carefully as slots once submitted cannot be changed again. If slots are not selected by students, then the conducting authority will allocate slots as per the application details.

VITEEE Exam Centres 2020 

VIT conducts VITEEE in 113 exam centres across India. VIT was conducting VITEEE in 4 overseas countries which are Muscat, Qatar, Dubai, and Kuwait. Because of operational costs, VIT is now conducting the exam only in India.

VITEEE Results 2020 

Candidates can check VITEEE Results by entering their application number and password on the official website. VIT will declare VITEEE Results 2020 on April 30, 2020. Candidates will get notified through SMS about their VITEEE Result. 

VITEEE Answer Key

The Answer Key will be released once after the results have been declared. Answer key VITEEE 2020 gives candidates an estimate of their results and also helps them to calculate their probability to get into VIT.

Only on basis of VITEEE Result, eligible candidates will get a chance for admission to VITEEE participating institutes, which are VIT Vellore, VIT Chennai, VIT Amravati, and VIT Bhopal.

How to check VITEEE Result?

Steps to check VITEEE Results are provided below. please go through them to avoid any difficulty to check the results.

  • Step 1: Candidates need to visit the official website of VIT. There will be an icon that will read as VITEEE Results.
  • Step 2: Click on it and you will get redirected to VITEEE Result page.
  • Step 3: Enter your credentials and submit it.
  • Step 4: Your VITEEE Result will be displayed on the screen.

Counselling

VIT will decide cut-off score based on candidates' marks and number of seats available. VIT will call a total of 8,000 candidates for VITEEE Counselling 2020 from May 9, 2020. There will be 3 counselling slots per day.

Documents which candidates should carry for VITEEE Counselling are:

  • Photocopy of Class 12th Hall Ticket
  • Class 10th certificate to verify date of birth
  • SC/ST Community Certificate
  • Student profile filled by student
  • Affidavit by student & parent
  • Demand Draft of Rs. 50,000/- (including 10000/- that is nonrefundable) in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore.
  • Balance fee for VITEEE 2020 as per the fee structure is to be paid on the day of reporting
  • Four recent passport size colour photos
  • Transfer Certificate/School Leaving Certificate/Migration Certificate
  • Candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and North Eastern states must have nativity certificate

Inference: In the above graph, you can see that the students registered for VITEEE Exam are gradually increasing from the year 2013 to 2017. Students who have registered for VITEEE in the year 2017 is 2, 23,156. However, the number of students who appeared for VITEEE 2019 examination was 2,02,000 (this is data is approximate and only for the reference purpose).

State-wise Registration Trend VITEEE 2017

The following illustration depicts the number of students appearing for VITEEE 2017 Exam from different states in India. In 2017, the students from Uttar Pradesh was the highest amongst all.

VITEEE 2017 Registration Trends

The highest number of students: You can refer to the above graph that Uttar Pradesh has got the highest number of students registering for VITEEE in 2017, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 27,427 candidates.

State-wise Registrations: Bihar came next with 18,463 registrations, while Maharashtra accounted for 15,584 registrations. But Tamil Nadu, where the main campus of VIT is located, got only 13,867 students.

City wise Registrations: If we see it as a city wise, most numbers of registrations have come from Hyderabad and New Delhi. Chennai had 6,530 registrations, whereas, Vellore got only 2,361 registrations. There were over 500 NRI candidates registered for VITEEE exam. VITEEE 2019 was held in 145 centres in 113 Indian cities.

First of all, there is an entrance exam called VITEEE, which is held every year in april. And results come by april end and counseling starts by 2nd week of may. Eligibilty is 60% in physics chemistry maths. Everything is based on your rank you score, first come first serve basis in every single thing. There will be a counseling hall with a screen showing different category seats available for students to chose from. Category 1 has the lowest tution fee and with limited seats available. And the category 5 being the highest tuition fee.

I got a seat in this college. I was always interested in electronics, So I choose EEE as my first choice while keeping Mechanical as my second choice. Due to my good score in boards, I was able to get a seat in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
