VIT University has released the official dates for the VITEEE 2021 examination. The exam will be conducted through online mode from May 28, 2021 to May 31, 2021. Candidates who are willing to appear for the exam can fill the application form as the last dates have not been announced yet.   • May 15, 2021: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) is going to conduct VITEEE 2021 mock test in two phases. Phase 1 will be held from May 20, 2021 to May 22, 2021 in AI proctoring mode. Phase 2 will be conducted from May 24, 2021 to May 26, 2021 in live human proctoring mode.
  • May 10, 2021: The slot booking date for VITEEE 2021 is announced. Candidates who have registered for the exam can book their slot from May 17 onwards.
  • May 9, 2021: The tentative date for the VITEEE 2021 Online Mock Test is scheduled for May 20, 2021. Candidates are required to attend the mock test to get a clear picture of the exam day procedures so they do not make any mistakes in the actual exam.

What is VITEEE?

The full form of VITEEE is Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam. It is an entrance exam conducted by VIT for admissions into the various engineering courses offered at the university. VITEEE 2021 Eligibility

Educational Qualifications

The VITEEE 2021 eligibility criteria as per the age limit of the candidates is as follows:

  • Minimum marks for General: Candidates should have an aggregate score of 60% in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Biology in their 12th. Candidates from NIOS are also eligible to appear in VITEEE 2021. The PCBE/PCME Combined marks should be above 50%.
  • Minimum marks for SC/ST: Candidates belonging to SC/ST and North-East India should have a minimum aggregate of 50% in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM/ PCB).

Age Limit

The VITEEE 2021 eligibility criteria as per the age limit of the candidates is as follows:

  • Candidates born on or after 1st July 1998 are eligible for VITEEE 2021. Candidates must have completed 17 years of age as on 1st July of the Admission year (2021).

VITEEE 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus for VITEEE 2021 is similar to the NCERT syllabus of classes 11 and 12. Previously, when the VIT entrance exam was conducted, there were only 5 main sections in the exam; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English, out of which candidates could choose between attempting Mathematics or Biology depending on the specialization they opted for. For 2021, VIT has added Aptitude as a main section in the examination which means that candidates will have to attempt 5 out of 6 main sections in the exam.

Candidates must go through the VITEEE syllabus very carefully prior to applying for the exam. Having a good idea of the syllabus and exam pattern will give candidates enough insights as to how to go about their preparation process. VITEEE tests the candidates' strength in the subjects that they opted for in their 10+2 or equivalent exam. Therefore, the syllabus will be close to the syllabus of NCERT (10+2) subjects. The total number of students who registered for VITEEE in the year 2017 is 2, 23,156. However, the number of students who appeared for the VITEEE 2019 examination was 2,02,000 (this is data is approximate and only is for reference purposes).

State-wise Registrations: Bihar came next with 18,463 registrations, while Maharashtra accounted for 15,584 registrations. However, Tamil Nadu, where the main campus of VIT is located, got only 13,867 students.

City wise Registrations: If we look at it city-wise, the most numbers of registrations have come from Hyderabad and New Delhi. Chennai had 6,530 registrations, whereas, Vellore got only 2,361 registrations. There were over 500 NRI candidates that registered for the VITEEE exam. VITEEE 2017 was held in 145 centres in 113 Indian cities.
