  • Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2022 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2022 should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

  • Candidates having studied Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry in +2 / Higher Secondary Board are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes

VITEEE 2022 Exam Pattern

Candidates should be aware of the revised VITEEE Paper Pattern to plan their preparation for and develop an effective strategy to score the maximum marks in the exam. Knowing the exam pattern and marking scheme will give candidates an account of the distribution of questions and relevant marks of the actual exam, which can help them strategise in writing the exam for the maximum marks. Mode: VITEEE 2022 is a purely computer-based test (CBT). The questions are multiple-choice questions (MCQ).

Duration: VITEEE 2022 is 2 hours 30 minutes, and there will not be any kind of negative marking.

Sections: As per the new notification released by VIT, the number of questions for each section has been changed, and now Mathematics/ Biology will consist of 40 questions, the Physics and Chemistry sections will have 35 questions each, The Aptitude section will have 10 questions & 5 questions will be asked from English.

VITEEE 2022 Syllabus

VITEEE 2022 is similar to the NCERT syllabus of classes 11 and 12. Previously, when VIT entrance exam was conducted, there were only 5 main sections the exam; Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology, and English, out of which candidates could choose between attempting Mathematics or Biology depending on the specialisation they opted for. For 2022, VIT has added Aptitude as a central section in the examination, meaning candidates will have to attempt 5 out of 6 main sections in the exam.

Candidates must thoroughly go through VITEEE syllabus before applying for the exam. Having a good idea of the syllabus and exam pattern will give candidates enough insights into how to go about their preparation process. VITEEE tests the candidates' strengths in the subjects they opted for in their 10+2 or equivalent exam. Therefore, the syllabus will be close to the syllabus of NCERT (10+2) subjects. Inference: In the above graph, you can see that the number of students who registered for VITEEE exam has gradually increased from 2013 to 2017. The total number of students who registered for VITEEE in 2017 was 2,23,156. However, the number of students who appeared for VITEEE 2019 examination was 2,02,000 (this data is approximate and only is for reference purposes).

State-Wise Registration Trend VITEEE 2017

The following graph depicts the number of students that appeared for VITEEE 2017 ream from different states in India. In 2017, Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of students registered for the exam.

Highest Number of Students: The above graph shows that Uttar Pradesh got the highest number of students registering for VITEEE in 2017, followed by Andhra Pradesh with 27,427 candidates.

State-Wise Registrations: Bihar came next with 18,463 registrations, while Maharashtra accounted for 15,584 registrations. However, Tamil Nadu, where the main campus of VIT is located, got only 13,867 students.

City-Wise Registrations: If we look at it city-wise, most registrations have come from Hyderabad and New Delhi. Chennai had 6,530 registrations, whereas Vellore got only 2,361 registrations. There were over 500 NRI candidates that registered for VITEEE exam. VITEEE 2017 was held in 145 centres in 113 Indian cities.

VITEEE 2022 Exam Day Instructions

Due to the covid situation, VITEEE 2022 examination can be taken up in the comfort of the candidate's home. However, VITEEE exam conducting authority has issued a few rules that the candidates need to follow while taking up VITEEE online remote proctored Examination (OPRE). Some of which have been listed below. 

  • Once the exam starts, candidates should fully view the proctor and secondary device. Candidates are requested not to move away or block the camera, which will result in disqualification. 
  • Changing tabs in the middle of the exam should be prevented. It is also recorded on the proctor and will alert the candidates. If the behaviour is repeated, the candidate can be debarred from attempting the exam. 
  • The average time to answer each question is around 1 minute; hence candidates are requested to look at the primary device's screen while solving their questions to ensure they are taking the test correctly. 
  • Connecting to any other external device must be avoided, such as Bluetooth headphones or any other display. Doing so will lead to immediate termination of the session and disqualification. 
  • Do not answer any calls on the phone or the primary device. 
  • Candidates must ensure that no people are talking next to them as all the audio is listened to and captured. If the proctor suspects any malpractice is happening, it will lead to immediate disqualification. 
  • Do not try to take any screenshots or attempt to screen record the examination, leading to immediate disqualification.
  • Do not attempt to press any combination keys as it may lead to exiting the examination prematurely. 
  • It is recommended that only a mouse be used for navigation and answering since necessary buttons for navigation and answering are given in the user interface. Use the keyboard only to type chat messages or to get support.
  • All questions and choices have been thoroughly checked, and one should answer the question and the choices as they are displayed.

Device Requirements

Candidates must also keep their primary device a laptop/ desktop with a camera, speaker, and mic. Candidates must also make sure these are fully charged and have a connected power outlet when needed. And a secondary devise/ third eye as an android or iOS mobile phone with a functional front camera.

Primary Device 

  • Apple macOS: 64-bit macOS and the minimum macOS version supported is macOS 10.11 (El Capitan). 
  • Microsoft Windows: 64-bit Windows on AMD or Intel CPUs, and the supported OS versions are Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10.
  • Ubuntu Linux: 64-bit Ubuntu on AMD or Intel CPUs, and the supported OS versions are Ubuntu 18.04 and Ubuntu 20.04

Secondary Device (Mandatory)

  • Android mobile device with a front-facing camera, with a minimum OS version of Android 8 or above, and Chrome browser (version 80 or above) or Edge browser (version 45 or above)
  • iOS mobile device with a front-facing camera, with minimum OS version iOS 13 or above, and Safari browser (version 13 or above)

Network connection (Mandatory)

  • A stable network connection to each device at a minimum upload/ download bandwidth of 256 kpbs should be available throughout the test window, i.e. two hours (30 minutes for pretest checking and 90 minutes for actual test).
  • The test platform will assess the network and device capabilities and allow the candidate to proceed only to comply with the test requirements mentioned above. Else, the applicant cannot proceed with the exam.
