The theory section of the Maharashtra HSC Physics exam carries a weight of 70 marks, whereas the practical section is assigned 30 marks. The Physics theory paper consists of four sections. In Section A, there are 18 multiple-choice (MCQ) and very short answer (VSA) questions. In Section B, there are eight short answer questions worth 2 marks each, for a total of 16 marks. In Section C, eight short answer questions are worth 3 marks each, for a total of 24 marks. Finally, in Section D, there are three long answer questions worth 4 marks each, for a total of 12 marks.
