The UP Board 12th Physics theory question paper will be for a timeline of 3 hours and 15 minutes, and its valuation will be 70 marks. 30 marks are reserved for the practical assessment (internal and external assessments). Hence, the combined weightage of theory and practical in the Physics exam is 100 marks. You will be given 15 minutes to read the theory question paper and in the next 3 hours, you will have to solve the questions. There will be 5 sections from A to E, and the paper will be a mix of MCQs, very short, short, and long answer questions. The table given here will help you to understand the UP Board 12th Physics theory question paper pattern in the right way -
| Section | Number of Questions | Marks Allotted |
| A | 6(MCQs) | 6 x 1 = 6 |
| B | 6(very short answer type questions) | 6 x 1 = 6 |
| C | 4(short answer type questions – type 1 ) | 4 x 2 = 8 |
| D | 10(short answer type questions – type 2) | 10 x 3 = 30 |
| E | 4(long answer type questions) | 4 x 5 = 20 |
| Total | 70 Marks | |
