The JAC Class 12 Biology question paper will carry 100 marks. 70 marks will be allotted for theory and 30 marks for internal assessment. The duration of the exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes. Students will have a further 15 minutes to read the question paper and plan their answers. The question paper will consist of two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will consist of 35 objective-type questions, each worth one mark and all will be compulsory to answer. Part B will have three sections A, B, and C and 19 questions overall. Part B will include three types of questions, very short answer questions in section A, short answer questions in section B, and long answer questions in section C. Students will have to answer all questions in Part B, but will have internal choices given.

The JAC 12th Biology theory paper consists of five major units and has a total of 70 marks. Genetics and Evolution has the highest weightage with 20 marks, followed by Reproduction with 16 marks. Biology and Human Welfare and Biotechnology and its Applications contribute 12 marks each, while Ecology and Environment accounts for 10 marks.
