Tie Breaking Criteria

n situations where two or more candidates securing the same aggregate marks may arise during the preparation of GCET 2023 merit list, the authorities will use the following methods as per the listed order:

  • Candidates with more marks in Mathematics will be ranked higher.
  • If there is a tie in Mathematics score, then the candidate who has scored more in Chemistry will be ranked higher.
  • If the tie is still not broken, then the candidate with higher aggregate marks of Physics and Mathematics in the 12th standard will be ranked higher. If the tie still persists, then those candidates who have scored higher in Mathematics (12th standard) will be placed higher in the rank list.
  • Finally, if the tie is still not broken, then the older candidate will be given preference.

GCET 2023 Important Dates

GCET 2023 exam dates have been released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE). The exams for Engineering and Pharmacy programs were conducted offline on May 13 - 14, 2023. About GCET

The full form of GCET is Goa Common Entrance Test. GCET is a state-level entrance examination test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) under the regulation of the Government of Goa. DTE invites candidates of Goa state for admission to the first year of professional degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy, Architecture courses through NATA, and admissions to MBBS, BDS, BHMS (Homeopathy), Allied Health Sciences, BAMS (Ayurveda) and Nursing courses will be based on NEET-UG.

Applicants who wish to pursue any of the courses mentioned above in the state of Goa have to appear for GCET Exam, after which they can take admitted into these courses. GCET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to check the basic eligibility criteria for GCET 2023. They must ensure that they satisfy the eligibility criteria to appear in GCET exam before filling up the application form. The basic GCET eligibility criteria 2023 are as under:

  • He/she should have Physics, Mathematics, and English as the compulsory subjects and one of the subjects in Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/ Computer Science.
  • Candidates should have completed 10+2 or its equivalent exam from a recognized board.
  • Applicants should have scored at least 45% marks aggregate (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates)
  • There is no age limit prescribed.
B. Arch.
  • Candidates must qualify for the NATA exam.
  • Applicant must have passed 12th or equivalent exam with Mathematics subject.
  • He/she should have scored a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • There is no age limit for this course.
BHMS and AHS
  • Candidates should have completed 17 years as on 31st December of the admission year.
  • Candidates must have completed 10+2 or its equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry & Biology subject.
  • They must have secured at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PH candidates).
B. Sc. Nursing
  • He/she should have got at least 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • Candidates passed in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subject.
B. Pharma.
  • 12th or equivalent exam passed with Physics, Chemistry, and English as the compulsory subjects.
  • Apart from the above subjects, candidates should have an additional subject in Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology, and Computer Science.
  • There is no age limit.
  • Age: There is no age limitation for candidates applying for any of the Engineering or Architectural courses under GPCET 2023. An applicant to degree courses in medical courses like Medicine, Dentistry, Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Allied Health Sciences, and Nursing must have completed the age of 17 by 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible admission to the first year.
  • Qualification: Candidates should have qualified the 10+2 mode of education from any of the government recognized state boards or any other equivalent boards with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as the main subjects to appear in GCET 2023.
  • Citizenship: The candidate should be an Indian citizen in order to qualify for the GCET 2023. Non-resident Indians or NRI with a valid passport can also apply for under-seat reservations for the NRI category.

GCET 2023 Application Form

GCET 2023 application form was released on the official website on Apr 10, 2023, by the conducting body. The last date for the eligible candidates to fill out and submit the application form was till Apr 20, 2023. Aspirants are advised to fill out the application form carefully within the stipulated time period.

How to Fill GCET 2023 Application Form?

Candidates can follow the steps below to fill GCET 2023 application form.

  • Step 1: Candidates must log on to the official website.
  • Step 2: Candidates must then register for GCET 2023 using information such as their name, phone number, email address, and other facts.
  • Step 3: The next step is to complete GECT 2023 application form. Candidates must fill out the Goa CET application form with personal information, contact information, educational information, and other information.
  • Step 4: Applicants must upload scanned photographs of their photograph and signature in the GCET application form after completing out the application form.
  • Step 5: Candidates must pay Goa CET application fee online after uploading their documents. Applicants must also choose a GCET exam centre based on their preferences.
  • Step 6: The last step is to review all of the information before submitting Goa CET application form.

GCET 2023 Admit Card

The candidates who will effectively present their GCET 2023 application form alongside the application charges can get their admit card. GCET admit card will be issued to the candidates after submission of the application structure. The elements, for example, roll no, test date, time and will be mentioned on the admit card. It was obligatory for each contender to submit the admit card during the test.

Steps to Download GCET Admit Card

Follow the steps mentioned below to download the GCET admit card.

  • Step 1: Log on to website www.goacet.in and follow instructions stated.
  • Step 2: Register using email-ID and password.
  • Step 3: Click on the verification link sent by email-ID and log in to fill the application form.
  • Step 4: Fill in all particulars on the application form, upload photos, and signature, and choose the subject options (PCM OR PC).
  • Step 5: Click on the link to proceed to the payment portal to pay the GCET application fee of
  • INR 2000.
  • Step 6: Upon successful completion of the payment process, select the exam center.
  • Step 7: Download and print admit card sent on your registered email.

Note: Inform DTE Goa, immediately, in case of any mistake/discrepancy in the GCET Admit Card, make sure to tally the details with the application form. Send the image of the Admit Card with mention of the correction required.

GCET 2023 Exam Centres

GCET 2023 will be held at given test centres in the state of Goa. The code for preferred centres must be correctly entered on the application form. Any request for a change in choice of papers and/or centre selected/allotted will be entertained after the issue of the Admit Card.

  • GCET Centre: GCET/ Goa CET 2023 will be conducted across various centres in Goa.
  • Choice: Candidates must choose the GCET exam centre while filling out the application form from the available alternatives.
  • Cancellation: The conducting authority has the right to cancel or change the exam centre if necessary. The candidate has no authority to question the DTE.
  • Note: The candidate must be present one hour before at the GCET 2023 exam centre for verification. If the candidate is not able to appear for the exam in time, then he/she won't be allowed to write the examination. The candidate will have to carry the admit card along with anyone Government Photo ID to the exam centre on the day of the examination.

GCET 2023 Syllabus

The syllabus for GCET 2023 will be based on the prospectus recommended by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Porvorim. Class 12 (Science) subjects, for example, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be incorporated into the syllabus. 

  • BE: The syllabus for B.E includes the topic from Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry of Class XI and Class XII prescribed by the State Government of Goa.
  • B.Arch: The syllabus for B.Arch will be prescribed by the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) and the students can follow the NATA Board for regular updates.
  • Medical: The syllabus for Medical courses will be from the Science (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology) from Class XI and Class XII prescribed by the State Government of Goa.
  • Books: Candidates can refer to the books which are prescribed by the conducting authority and the toppers.

GCET 2023 Cut Off

Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa will determine the minimum scores obtained by the candidates to be considered for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses at the universities and colleges in Goa. GCET Cut Off will be based on the following factors:

  2. The difficulty level of GCET 2023 Paper
  3. Number of Seats available
  4. Cutoff may also be sectional wise

GCET 2023 Counselling

After the announcement of the result, the candidates need to fill out the admission form, for example, Form A or Form B or Form C according to the ideal course. After the submission of the admission structure, the shortlisted applicants will be discharged. The candidates whose name is there on the merit list will be called for the first round. The candidates need to enter their preferred college and course at the time of Counselling. The confirmation will be affirmed after the verification of the documents. A candidate is suggested to scrutinise the college he/she is dreaming to opt for. 

After the successful allotment of college/seats, candidates will be required to submit the fee against the admission process and the first semester, within due time. Failing to do so will result in the voiding of seat allotment, and the seat will become open for the next round/candidate.

Application Form for Admission

  • Form A: For admission into Engineering & Pharmacy Courses.
  • Form B: For admission into NEET based professional degree courses in MBBS/ BDS/ AHS/ BHMS/ BAMS/ Nursing.
  • Form C: For admission into Architecture [B.Arch] degree course based on NATA.

GCET 2023 Counselling Procedure

  • Step 1: Candidates have to fill the above-mentioned admission application form based on the course opted.
  • Step 2: Completed forms have to be submitted in person at the Directorate of Technical Education, Porvorim.
  • Step 3: After submission, the candidate will be issued an acknowledgement card which has to be produced at the time of counselling.
  • Step 4: There will be three rounds of Goa CET Counselling, but an additional round may be held in case there are vacant seats left.
  • Step 5: Only those candidates who are listed on the merit list of GCET will be allowed to participate in the counselling.
