  • About: Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET 2018) is an entrance examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) for admissions to undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) offered by the government and private colleges.

  • Conducting Authority: JKCET 2018 entrance exam is conducted and managed by the JKBOPEE (Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations).

JKCET 2018 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized school or institution with 50% Marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics(General category). In case of Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates, the aggregate goes down to 40%. Candidates appearing for the final exam of Class 12th can also appear.

  • Domicile: Candidate must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir in order to be eligible for JKCET 2018.

JKCET 2018 Application Form:

  • Application Process: The candidates applying for JKCET 2018 have to select the group of examination while filling the JKCET 2018 application form, as per their choice of PCM, PCB & PCMB. The candidates should enter the details such as personal details, qualification details, contact details etc while filling the application form.

  • Application Fee: The candidates have to pay the JKCET 2018 form fees to complete the registration of the JKCET 2018. The cost of the application fee is Rs 800 which can be paid online with the help of Credit Card/Debit Card and by Netbanking also.

JKCET 2018 Exam Pattern:

  • Paper Pattern: The JKCET 2018 exam is conducted in offline mode. The paper will be divided into 2 sections; A and B, each comprising of Physics/Chemistry and Mathematics respectively. 

  • Marking Scheme: Total marks of the JKCET 2018 paper is 180. One mark will be allotted to the candidates for correct answers and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

JKCET 2018 Admit Card: 

  • Credentials: The candidates can download the admit card from 10th April 2018 on the official website by providing the Application Number and Date of Birth.

  • Important Note: The JKCET 2018 admit card should be a colour printout and candidates will have to affix their photograph and get it duly attested by the authorized signatory.

JKCET 2018 Syllabus:

  • Sections: The JKCET 2018 syllabus will be having the syllabus of NCERT Books which are of class 11th and class 12th. Each section needs to be thoroughly prepared for cracking JKCET 2018. 

  • Subjects: The JKCET 2018 exam will be based on questions coming from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Candidates need to complete the JKCET 2018 exam paper within 180 minutes.

JKCET 2018 Results:

JKCET 2018 Counselling: 

  • Commencement: The JKCET 2018 counselling will commence from 1st July 2018 after the official declaration of the results. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the counselling process to book their seats at various colleges.

  • Documents Required: The candidates are required to bring all the certificates and original documents as prescribed in JKCET 2018 official website.

Important Guidelines for JKCET 2018 Exam:

  • Candidates are required to go through the instructions given for JKCET 2018 carefully. The JKCET 2018 examination centres will open 15 minutes before the reporting time of the Entrance Test on the day of examination.

  • Candidates are expected to be in their seats at the reporting time of the JKCET 2018 exam.

  • Candidates who do not possess the JKCET 2018 admit cards will not be allowed to sit in the examination hall under any circumstances. This card must be shown on demand.

  • No textual material, printed/ handwritten will be allowed in the JKCET 2018 examination hall. Candidates are advised not to carry any such material in the examination hall.

  • No candidate shall be allowed to enter examination hall for appearing in the examination after the distribution of Answer Sheets.

  • The candidates are not allowed to bring mobile phones/ calculators/pocket transistors/electronic watches with facilities of calculator/slide rules, any form of the table or any other such aid.

  • Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed in the examination hall during the Entrance Test.

  • Smoking in the examination hall is not allowed.

  • The candidate must sit in the seat allotted to him/ her. In no case, a candidate can change his/ her seat.

  • No candidate will leave the hall before the expiry of the full time prescribed for the Entrance Test and without handing over Answer Sheet to the invigilator on duty.

  • No person/ persons other than those authorized by the BOPEE shall be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Amanuensis will not be allowed, The candidate’s misbehaviour in any manner in the Examination Hall shall entail him/ her disqualification.

  • Any disturbance in the examination hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour and the candidates shall forfeit the right to continue to sit in the examination hall. The decision of the centre superintendent shall be final.

JKCET 2018 Eligibility Summary:

  • Eligibility criteria regarding citizenship: The candidates must hold citizenship of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding age limit: The candidates should be 17 years on or before December 31st, 2018.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding education: The candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized Board or University of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding qualifying marks: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry or Biology. (40% of the SC/ST candidates).

  • Exam mode: The JKCET exam is an offline exam.

  • Number of papers: There shall be two papers for each stream (PCB/PCM).

  • Paper A: This paper consists of questions from Physics and Chemistry. There will be 60 questions from each section.

  • Paper B: This paper consists of questions from Biology for PCB candidates. There will be 60 questions.

  • Paper C: This paper consists of questions from Mathematics for PCM candidates. There will be 60 questions.

  • Number of questions: There will be a total of 180 questions.

  • Duration: The exam will be for a duration of 3 hours.
