Introduction to JKCET 2019:

  • About: Jammu and Kashmir Common Entrance Test (JKCET 2019) is an entrance examination conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) for admissions to undergraduate Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) offered by the government and private colleges.

  • Conducting Authority: JKCET 2019 entrance exam is conducted and managed by the JKBOPEE (Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations).

JKCET 2019 Important Dates

  • Application Form: JKCET 2019 application form will be available from 1st February 2019 in the online mode for all the candidates. The JKCET 2019 Application form has to be filled and submitted on or before 3rd March 2019 by the candidates.

  • Admit Card: The JKCET 2019 admit card will be available on the official website from 10th April 2018.

JKCET 2019 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Qualification: Candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized school or institution with 50% Marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics(General category). In case of Backward Communities and SC/ST candidates, the aggregate goes down to 40%. Candidates appearing for the final exam of Class 12th can also appear.

  • Domicile: Candidate must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir in order to be eligible for JKCET 2019.

JKCET 2019 Application Form:

  • Application Process: The candidates applying for JKCET 2019 have to select the group of examination while filling the JKCET 2019 application form, as per their choice of PCM, PCB & PCMB. The candidates should enter the details such as personal details, qualification details, contact details etc while filling the application form.

  • Application Fee: The candidates have to pay the JKCET 2019 form fees to complete the registration of the JKCET 2019. The cost of the application fee is Rs 800 which can be paid online with the help of Credit Card/Debit Card and by Netbanking also.

JKCET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Paper Pattern: The JKCET 2019 exam is conducted in offline mode. The paper will be divided into 2 sections; A and B, each comprising of Physics/Chemistry and Mathematics respectively. 

  • Marking Scheme: Total marks of the JKCET 2019 paper is 180. One mark will be allotted to the candidates for correct answers and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

JKCET 2019 Admit Card

  • Availability: Admit Cards will be made available for only those candidates who have filled the JKCET 2019 Application Form successfully.

  • Issue Date: Admit Card will be issued online and the candidates can download using their unique credential from 10th April 2018

  • Offline Availability: Candidates without internet facility, may avail this facility at the help desk of the I.T. section of J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations with a prior telephonic appointment, for a nominal fee of Rs. 100/- on any working day to get their Admit Card.

  • Discrepancies- If there are any discrepancies in the JKCET Admit Card, then the candidates must get in touch with the authorities concerned.

JKCET 2019 Syllabus

  • Syllabus: JKCET 2019 question paper will be based on the syllabus of Intermediate (I.Sc/ +2/ equivalent).

  • Subjects: JKCET Syllabus comprises of the four subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.

  • Reference Books: Reference Books such as 10th and 12th NCERT Books for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are recommended for the candidates to refer during the examination.

JKCET 2019 Results

  • Results Date: JKCET 2019 Results will be declared on the official website on 10th May 2019.

  • Answer Key: Candidates can check the answer key after 1 week of examination. Candidates can download the answer key from the official website.

  • Merit List: JKCET 2019 merit list will be prepared on the basis JKCET Result. Candidates with higher marks will attain a higher rank.

  • Cut-off: Cut-off will be prepared after the analysis of JKCET 2019 Result. To clear the cutoff, candidates have to secure more than 50% in the qualifying examination.

JKCET 2019 Counselling

  • Commencement: Counselling will be conducted online on 1st July 2019.

  • Counselling Fee: Candidate has to pay a Counselling Fee of INR 1200 online before the commencement date.

  • Document Verification: During the Counselling, candidates have to produce the necessary documents in order to get admission.

JKCET 2019 Guidelines

  • Read all instructions: Aspirants should read all the given instructions carefully.

  • Reporting time: Exam Centres will open 15 minutes before the reporting time. So, students are advised to be present on time. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the distribution of answer sheets.

  • Admit card: Candidates will not be allowed to enter in the examination hall without hall ticket. 

  • Prohibited items: Candidates are advised not to carry any textual material, printed/ handwritten material in the exam hall. Mobile phones/ calculators/ pocket transistors/ electronic watches with facilities of calculator/ slide rules/ or any other such aid are not allowed inside the examination hall.

  • No eatables allowed: Tea, coffee, cold drinks, snacks, and smoking are not allowed in the examination hall during the entrance test.

  • Seating: Candidates are not allowed to change their seat in any case. They will need to sit only in their assigned place.

  • Leaving the hall: Candidates are not allowed to leave the hall before the completion of given time and without handing over the answer sheet to the invigilator on duty.

  • Entry: No person other than those authorized by the board (BOPEE) shall be allowed to enter the examination hall.

  • Candidate's conduct: The candidate’s misbehavior may lead to their disqualification from the exam. Any kind of disturbance may also lead to strict action against the candidate.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding citizenship: The candidates must hold citizenship of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding age limit: The candidates should be 17 years on or before December 31st, 2019.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding education: The candidates should have passed their 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from a recognized Board or University of Jammu and Kashmir.

  • Eligibility criteria regarding qualifying marks: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry or Biology. (40% of the SC/ST candidates).

  • Reservation of seats: Candidates have to upload an attested copy of their reservation category certificate. The seats will be allotted on the basis of merit. Only JKCET candidates will be considered for allotment of seats. An affidavit has to be submitted stating that no other member of the family has got the benefit of this category.

  • Number of papers: There shall be two papers for each stream (PCB/PCM).

  • Paper A: This paper consists of questions from Physics and Chemistry. There will be 60 questions from each section.

  • Paper C: This paper consists of questions from Mathematics for PCM candidates. There will be 60 questions.

  • Number of questions: There will be a total of 180 questions.
