Requesting Transcripts and Certificates
IB board provides an official transcript of grades for the Diploma Programme (DP). Transcripts will be sent directly to the institute of higher education, such as a university, and these documents will not be sent directly to students or other organizations.
How to Request a Transcript?
Following are some instructions for the candidates to follow to request a transcript:
1. Before the release of results
- If you are requesting before the declaration of results, you should contact your Diploma Programme coordinator to submit a request to the IB on your behalf.
- You can select up to six higher education institutions (HEI) worldwide. Also, no more than three can be selected from Canada and the US, and only one of these three can be selected from the US.
- An admissions centre such as the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) will be counted as a single request.
- When the results are released, they will be made available to institutes via a secure IB website or a paper transcript if the institute does not avail of the secure IB website.
- A candidate's first six requests will be accepted without charge before the release of the results.
2. After the release of results
- For requests made after the IB results are published, graduates can request their transcripts to be sent to the institutions by placing a request through- rrs.ibo.org.
- A fee will be charged for each additional request that is submitted regardless of whether any previous request(s) have been made for the same student.
Fee Payment for IB
Students must follow the below-mentioned guidelines regarding fee payment:
- All requests will include a processing fee of GBP 10/USD 17 for each transcript you request.
- The IB does not accept cash or postal orders.
- To submit a transcript request using a cheque, complete the form and send it to the IB Transcript office.
- Please note that the IB does not accept American Express. If your payment is not accepted, please contact your debit/credit card provider to authorize the international transaction.
How Does the Transcript Reach the University?
Below are some points for the students to know how the transcript reaches the university:
- If your chosen institution opted to receive IB transcripts via a secure IB website, they would receive them as soon as results are released.
- Please note that requests may take longer to process due to the volume of requests received during the peak months of December, January, and July through September.
- The IB is not responsible for delays in the postal service or delays in universities. This process usually takes up to 14 working days.
