A total of 23 units are included in the syllabus which are divided between various subjects. As per the Maharashtra SSC 2025-26 Social Science syllabus, 3 units from History, 9 units from Geography of India, and 5 units from Economics and Political Science each are included in the curriculum.

The unit-wise marking scheme does not apply to the Maharashtra SSC Social Science exam because there is no fixed marking assignment for each chapter. The question paper in the board exam will have all types of questions from all chapters worth 80 marks,
The theory exam will contain Objective Type, Short Answer, Long Answer, and Map based questions, divided into two sections. Sections I and II will consist of 40 marks each with objective, subjective, and application-based questions from all units.
