HBSE 10th Social Science exam pattern 2026 - Section Wise

The HBSE 10th Social Science exam involves two parts: a 20-mark internal assessment and an 80-mark theory paper. The HBSE 10th Social Science exam paper contains 6 sections. 20 Multiple Choice questions (MCQs) make up Section A. These questions have a total of 20 marks, with each question worth one mark. 8 very short answer questions make up Section B. Out of a possible score of 16, each of these questions is worth two marks.

You are granted a total of 12 marks if you are able to correctly answer the 4 case study based questions from Section C; each question is worth three marks. 4 short answer questions make up Section D. These questions have a total of 12 marks, with each question worth three marks. 3 essay type questions make up Section E. Out of a possible score of 15, each of these questions is worth five marks.You are granted a total of 5 marks if you are able to correctly answer the 1 map based question from Section F.
