TBSE Madhyamik/10th Syllabus 2022 (All Subjects)

TBSE conducts the board examination for both government and private schools at the same time. TBSE class 10th syllabus 2022 includes all subjects like English, Science, Maths, Social Science, and Hindi. Each subject syllabus contains information on the latest exam pattern, chapter-wise marks distribution, and deleted topics. We have provided a detailed TBSE class 10th syllabus for all subjects below for creating a good study plan and better preparation for the board exams.

TBSE Madhyamik English Syllabus

English is a subject that requires a good hold on grammar, reading skills, comprehension, and writing skills to ace the exams. Not many students put much effort into this subject, although it is requisite to study for it. We have provided a detailed class 10th English syllabus below for your understanding.

SECTION A: READING SKILLS

This section will have two unseen passages of a total length of 700-750 words. The arrangement within the reading section is as follows:
1. A factual passage of 300-350 words with eight Objective Type Questions (including Multiple Choice Questions). (8)
2. A Discursive passage of 350-400 words with four Short Answer Type Questions to test inference, evaluation, and analysis, four Objective Type Questions ( including Multiple Choice Questions) to test vocabulary. (12)

SECTION B: WRITING AND GRAMMAR

For writing tasks, there will be internal choice 30
3. Formal letter to the editor in about 100-150 words. The questions will be thematically based on the prescribed books.(8)
4. Writing a short story based on a given outline or cue/s in about 150-200 words. (10)

The Grammar syllabus will include the following areas in class X.
1. Tenses
2. Modals
3. Subject-verb concord
4. Reporting : (i) Commands and requests (ii) Statements (iii) Questions
5. Determiners
6. Prepositions

The above items may be tested through the test types given below:
5. Gap filling with one or two words to test Prepositions, Articles, Conjunctions and Tense
6. Editing or omission. (4)
7. Sentences- Reordering or Sentence Transformation in context. (4)

SECTION C

LITERATURE: TEXTBOOKS AND SUPPLEMENTARY READING TEXT:30
8. One out of two extracts from prose/poetry/drama for reference to context. Four Objective Type Questions (including MCQs): Two questions of one mark each on global comprehension and two questions of 1 mark each on interpretation. (4)
9. Five Short Answer type Questions to be answered in 30-40 words each from First Flight and Footprints Without Feet to test local and global comprehension of theme and ideas (three from First Flight and two from Footprints with Feet) (2x5)

10. One out of two Long Answer type Questions from First Flight to be answered in about 100-150 words to assess creativity, imagination, and extrapolation beyond the text and across the texts.  (8)
11. One out of two long answer questions from the book ‘Footprints without feet’ on theme or plot involving interpretation, extrapolation beyond the text, and inference or character sketch to be answered in about 100-150 words. (8)

TBSE Madhyamik Maths Syllabus

Maths is an easy subject to score if students have clarity of concepts and practices numerical problems consistently. There are seven units in this syllabus, starting with Number systems, and the last chapter is Statistics and Probability. Note:

  • Minimum 60-65% of the syllabus of History, Political Science, Geography, and Economics should separately be completed before the Pre-Test happens.

  • Two answer scripts:

    • (i) History and Political Science

    • (ii) Geography and Economics should be used during the examinations.

Project - Internal Assessment

History (6 marks) 

  • Project Work -4 marks (word limitation -250 words) and Viva-voce on project work - 2 marks.

Any of the one topics to be selected from the following:

  • History of the Press in India

  • The growth of Indian industries during the Swadeshi era

  • Revolutionary movements in 19th and 20th century India – Khudiram Bose / Bagha Jatin / Bhagat Singh / Surya Sen / Pritilata Wadeddar / Kalpana Datta / Bina Das.

  • Temple architecture in Tripura/ folk songs, dance, and festivals of Tripura.

Political Science (4 marks)

  • Project Work -3 Marks (word limitation -200 words) and Viva-voce on project work -1 mark.

Any topic to be selected from the following:

  • Experience after visiting a Gram Panchayat

  • Experience after visiting a Nagar Panchayat

  • Conditions for good democracy

  • Duties of an M.L.A.

  • Any of the following tourist spots in Tripura – i) Rudrasagar, ii) Sipahijala, iii) Matabari, and iv) Unakoti.

Geography (6 marks)

  • Project Work -4 marks (word limitation -250 words) and Viva-voce on project work -2 marks.

Any topic to be selected from the following:

  • Rainwater harvesting.

  • Earthquake

  • Flood

  • Noise pollution

  • Global warming

  • Rubber plantation in Tripura

Economics (4 marks)

  • Project Work -3 marks (word limit -200 words) and Viva-voce on project work - 1 mark.

Any topic to be selected from the following:

  • Educational & Health Development – Its necessities.

  • Producing Sectors of an economy – Primary, Secondary & Tertiary Sectors.

  • World Trade Organisation ( W.T.O).

  • The exploitation of consumers–a Case study.

N.B: Any kind of Exercise Books may be used for Project Works in all Subjects. Exercise Books must be written by the candidates through their handwriting. Computerized, downloaded, typed, photocopies, etc. are not permitted. In the case of diagrams/sketches, downloaded pictures, photocopies, paper-cuttings may be accepted.

Note:

  • Internal choice: There is no overall choice in the question paper, but there is an internal choice in all questions marked with *

  • In SA and LA-type questions, the total allotted marks in each may be subdivided, if necessary.

Word limitations:

  • Questions for 1 (one) mark: within 1 complete sentence

  • Questions for 3 (three) marks: within 50 words

  • Questions for 5 (five) marks:  within 100 words.

 The question types and marks distribution of the final examination should also be followed in the pre-test and test exams.

Step 1: Visit the official website of Tripura board -  tbse.tripura.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the "Syllabus" link on the homepage of the website.

Step 3: A new window will pop up with the different class syllabuses. Candidates are required to click on the "Class X" option.
