The TBSE Class 10 Social Science exam for 2026 aims to test your understanding of four core subjects: History, Geography, Political Science and Economics covering equal 20 marks each making a total of 80 marks. The  TBSE Class 10 exam 2026 consists of objectives, Very Short Answer (VSA), Short Answer (SA), Long Answer (LA) and Map Work.

TBSE 10th History Subject has the highest individual chapter weightage, with Nationalism in India accounting for 8 marks and a map-based question (2 marks). Geography contributes both theoretically and practically based on maps, with Agricultural Geography (4 marks) and Minerals & Energy Resources (3 marks) contributing the most. Political Science has heavy weightage as well since it is a course that is based on understanding concepts such as Power Sharing, Federalism, and Political Parties (4 - 5 marks each) which is key to scoring marks.

Economics is equally important, with all four chapters (Development, Sectors of the Indian Economy, Money & Credit, and Globalization) carrying 5 marks each, thus being more balanced. The paper contains MCQs, Very short answers, Short answers, Long answers, and map work thus, youshould prepare both thoroughly, prioritizing high weightage chapters and map questions.

The TBSE 10th Social Science exam will be conducted out of 80 marks, and will comprise of four major subjects -- History, Geography, Political Science, and Economics. There is maximum weightage of marks allocated in History and Economics, you will need to prepare and study significant chapters like Nationalism in India, Development, Money and Credit, and Globalization, which are all worth 5-8 marks each. Political Science also has extremely important themes like Political Parties, Power Sharing, and Federalism, worth 4-5 marks each. Geography has a lower weightage of topics (2-4 marks) -- but with Agriculture being the only standalone important topic.
