The Directorate of Government Examinations, Telangana has released the TS SSC exam pattern 2026 which is comprised of Physical Science and Biological Science sections. Each section is allotted a total of 50 marks out of which 40 marks are assigned for theory and 10 marks for internal evaluation.
The two papers are to assess a set of six analytical skills (AS 1 to AS 6) with the questions of one mark, two marks, four marks and eight marks in total. The Physical Science paper in TS SSC Exam 2026 is more focused on Motion, Force, Work and Energy, Light and Electricity while Biology Science paper is more focused on Life Processes, Control and Coordination, Reproduction, Heredity, Health and Environment. Each paper is comprised of 17 questions.
Outlining each chapter-wise weightage is important in targeted preparation. A thorough understanding of the TS SSC Science Exam Pattern 2026 with weightage and marks distribution is important for exam preparation. When you align your study efforts in terms of preparation with the exam pattern, focusing on chapters with the higher weightages, you will achieve better scores and approach your exams with more confidence.

In order to prepare for the 2026 TS SSC science exam, it is essential to understand the chapter-by-chapter weightage. Science is divided into two papers, Physical Science (Paper 1) and Biological Science (Paper 2), both with a total weightage of 50 marks (40 marks theory + 10 internal assessment). In Physical Science, the chapters that carry the most weight (6 marks each) are Motion & Force, Work & Energy, Light, and Electricity & Magnetism. In Biological Science, major units (Life Processes, Control & Coordination, Reproduction, Heredity, Health & Diseases, and Environment) carry the same weightage (6 marks each) and Natural Resources is lighter (4 marks). By studying high weightage chapters first, you can keep your scores up. The units in Biology are evenly distributed, so you cannot skip any major chapter, while in Physical Science, focus on the 6-mark chapters first. The table below indicates the unit-wise distribution of marks for both papers.
