The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations has announced the Tamil Nadu 10th English Exam Pattern 2026. The pattern comprises of two parts: English Paper I and English Paper II, carrying 100 marks each. The English Paper I contains 5 sections (A - E) with a total of 51 questions, while English Paper II comprises 4 sections (I - IV) and 19 questions. The types of questions included in the Tamil Nadu 10th English Exam are Multiple Choice Questions, Short Answer Questions, Long Answer Questions, and Essay Questions.

The Tamil Nadu 10th exam for English consists of two papers comprised of Paper I and Paper II each paper has a maximum mark of 100. The exam consists of a combination of multiple-choice, short-answer and long-answer questions to assess language proficiency. To qualify for a pass, you must have at least 35 marks in both papers to qualify for a pass. The Tamil Nadu 10th English marking scheme outlines the marks distribution for English for both Paper I and Paper II, thereby allowing you to see how the marks are allocated.
