Kerala SSLC English exam pattern 2026 - Section Wise

The theory portion of the Kerala SSLC English exam is worth 80 marks, while the practical portion is worth 20. In the English theory paper, there are no sections but questions from various sections of the syllabus.Questions 1 through 15 that deal with unseen passages are worth 1 and 5 (question 10) out of the 19 possible marks. A total of 35 points can be earned by answering the six descriptive questions in questions 16–25 that are related to literature with seven, five, or six marks.

Five points are awarded for each of the five objective questions in questions 26–30 that are linked to an unseen table. Question 31 contains a dialogue report question worth two points, for a total score of two marks. Lastly, questions 32–36 contain grammar-related subparts, each worth one mark, for a total score of 19. The exam lasts for 2 hours and 30 minutes.
