West Bengal Madhyamik Routine 2021 (Released)

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) released the Madhyamik exam 2021 routine on 26th December 2020. As per the schedule, the Madhyamik board exams 2021 will commence on 1st June 2021 under strict COVID-19 protocols. According to the official notice, the Madhyamik examination will be held for only one paper each day from 11.45 am to 3 pm.

Important Points to Note Before Appearing in West Bengal Madhyamik Exam 2021

Candidates can go through the critical points mentioned below to get an overall idea about the West Bengal Madhyamik exam:

  • Timing of the examination - 11.45 AM to 3.00 PM.

  • The first 15 minutes of the test is to read the question paper. Candidates are not supposed to write anything during this time.

  • The duration of the exam for needlework and sewing will be four hours.

  • Music Instrumentation & Music Vocal for the theoretical part will be for 2 hours.

  • The course of the Computer Application examination will be 2½ hours long. The practical test will be conducted by the schools affiliated with the board.

  • Candidates will be allowed to choose one language among the West Bengal board's different first language subjects.

  • The choices that are available for the First Language are:

    • Bengali

    • Hindi

    • Nepali

    • Odia

    • Gurumukhi (Punjabi)

    • Telugu 

    • Tamil 

    • Urdu

    • Santhali

    • English 

    • Gujarati

    • Modern Tibetan

  • WB Board of Secondary Education allows a candidate to select one subject as a second language. However, WBBSE restricts the options for the second language as follows:

    • English (If the candidate chooses any language other than English as their first language).

    • Nepali/Bengali (if the candidate chooses English as their First Language).

    • The duration of the theoretical examination of the above five subjects will be 1 hour 45 minutes.

Candidates can start their preparation well in advance based on the West Bengal board's routine and refer to the syllabus released by the board. 

Routine will have details like day, date, and time of examination for each subject. Routine will help the candidates to plan their revision timetable accordingly. If there is no gap between the two exams, candidates must prepare for that subject well before the examination commencement.
