National Testing Agency sets the eligibility criteria for IIFT 2020. A candidate will have to satisfy the educational qualifications required by the candidate to appear for the exam. IIFT 2020 eligibility criteria are different for different categories. Failure to meet IIFT eligibility criteria 2020 will lead to the cancelling of the candidature of the applicant. Therefore, before filling the application form for IIFT, aspirants must check for the IIFT 2020 eligibility criteria.

IIFT Eligibility 2020
IIFT Exam can be given by Indian Citizens along with Foreign Nationals and Non-Resident Indians (NRI) who want to study in India. Students currently pursuing the last semester/year of their graduation can also appear for it. Every candidate should satisfy the criteria given below (whichever applies) to be able to appear for IIFT 2020. Eligibility for IIFT is given in detail below.
Minimum Educational Eligibility
A candidate must have a Bachelors's degree (of minimum duration of 3 years) in any discipline with aggregate marks of 50% for General/OBC-NCL category and 45% for reserved categories (SC/ST/PwD), from a recognized Institution or University for getting into IIFT.
For candidates who are in Final year or Awaiting Result
Candidates those who are appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed degree but awaiting results can also apply. Having said that, they must able to provide a declaration signed and attested by the principal/director of the college. The proof of the required qualification should be sent to the institute before October 7, 2020.
IIFT has not specified any upper age limit for any category of candidates to take IIFT 2020. Hence, rest assured, there is no age limit for IIFT.
Indian citizens, as well as citizens of foreign nations, can apply for IIFT 2020. Eligibility Criteria for Indian and Foreign nationals are different and are mentioned below.
Relaxation in marks
IIFT offers relaxation in marks based on the category. If a candidate belongs to reserved categories such as Physically Handicapped (PH), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (BC), there is a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate. Only, candidates with Indian citizenship are eligible to claim relaxation under a reserved category.
Eligibility for Foreign Nationals/NRI
IIFT has seats that are reserved for Foreign Nationals/NRIs/Children of NRI candidates to its MBA program. A candidate who is a resident outside India for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2019 and remains outside India during the IIFT examination window is also eligible to take IIFT 2020 entrance exam.
Foreign nationals' candidature for IIFT MBA - IB admission will be considered based only on their GMAT score. So, to seek admission at IIFT, a foreign national needs to have a valid GMAT score and they do not have to write the IIFT 2020 entrance exam.
Candidates should submit the proof of required qualification to the Institute by February 15, 2020. Each foreign candidate should submit the GMAT Scores to the institute before October 7, 2020. GMAT test taken before January 1, 2018, will not be valid.
Documents Required for IIFT 2020 Foreign Nationals/NRI
- A candidate is currently based on Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with application certificate from the Indian Embassy/High Commission/ Consulate of the country.
- The certificate should state that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18 months as of 31st December 2019.
- An authentic passport of a country other than India is considered as a valid document.
