IIFT 2019 Eligibility Criteria 

  • We strongly advise you to go through all the factors of IIFT 2019 eligibility criteria before filling the Application Form.

  • Minimum Educational Eligibility: The candidate must have a Bachelors degree (of minimum duration of 3 years) in any discipline with aggregate marks of 50% from a recognized Institution or University.

  • Final year or Result Awaited: Candidates those who are appearing for the final year bachelor's degree/equivalent qualification examination and those who have completed the degree requirements and are awaiting results can also apply. But they must able to provide proof of the required eligibility criteria before the deadline. 

  • Age Limit: IIFT has not specified any upper age limit for any category of candidates to take the IIFT entrance exam.

  • Nationality: Indian citizens, as well as citizens of foreign nations, can apply for IIFT 2019. The eligibility criteria for the Indian and foreign nationals are different and are mentioned below.

  • Relaxation in marks: IIFT 2019 offers relaxation in marks based on the category. If the candidate belongs to the reserved categories such as Physically Handicapped (PH), scheduled castes (SC), scheduled tribes (ST) and other backward classes (BC), there is a relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate.

  • Only candidates with Indian citizenship are eligible to claim the relaxation under reserved category.

IIFT 2019 Eligibility Criteria for International Candidates

  • The IIFT has seats are reserved for Foreign Nationals/NRIs/Children of NRI candidates to its MBA programme. 

  • A candidate who is a resident outside India for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2019 and remains outside India during the IIFT examination window is also eligible to take IIFT 2019 entrance exam.

  • The foreign nationals' candidature for IIFT MBA - IB admission will be considered based only on their GMAT score.

  • So, to seek admission at IIFT, a foreign national needs to have a valid GMAT score and they do not have to write the IIFT 2019 entrance exam.

  • A candidate will be considered ineligible for IIFT 2019 exam if he/she fails to clear the Bachelor's exam.

  • The candidates who are NRI - Sponsored are not considered under this category. 

Documents Required for IIFT 2019 International Candidates

  • The Indian nationals who are living, working, studying abroad should produce with application certificate from the Indian Embassy/High Commission/ Consulate of the country where the candidate is currently based.

  • The certificate should state that the candidate has been resident in that country continuously for a period of not less than 18 months as on 31st December 2019.

  • An authentic passport of a country other than India is considered as a valid document.

 If the candidates fulfil the above mentioned eligibility criteria then they can start filling the IIFT 2019 application form.

  • Candidates appearing for a qualifying examination can also apply subject to proof of prerequisite qualification by October 7, 2017, for IIFT.

The Eligibility criteria in terms of Nationality is given below:

  • Indian candidates, as well as the foreign candidates are eligible to apply for the post graduate program offered by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.
  • The terms and conditions applied to the Indian candidates are also applicable for Foreign candidates.
  • The foreign candidates can avail the application form till 15 February 2017. They will have to pay Rs. 4,500 as the application form fee.
  • The candidates can appear for the exam either from New Delhi or Kolkata.

The seats are allotted after the following process:

  1. Shortlisting: After the IIFT exam, candidates will be shortlisted based on the marks obtained in the exam.
  2. Final Selection: After the candidates are shortlisted, they would have to do essay writing and group discussion.
  3. Interview: The last process is personal interview, after which the candidates will be allotted seats.
