Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is the IIFT full form. Indian Institute of Foreign Trade is an autonomous business school set up by the Government with the aim of researching foreign trade. The current director of IIFT is Prof. Manoj Pant. Functions of IIFT

IIFT Admission Eligibility Criteria

The NTA (National Testing Agency) advises on the criteria for candidates to write the IIFT entrance exam. The eligibility criteria to write the exam to seek admission into the IIFT campus of Delhi, Kakinada, and Kolkata are as follows.

• The candidate should have an undergraduate degree in any discipline with an aggregate of 50%, while it is 45% for the reserved category.
• There is no age limit to apply for the IIFT entrance examination.
• The requirement of work experience is not necessary for the candidates.
• Foreign candidates who want to apply have to produce a valid GMAT score.

IIFT Registration Process

To gain admission into IIFT, candidates must register for the college. They have to fill out an IIFT application form and qualify for the CAT examination. Candidates must also clear the basic eligibility criteria for admission into IIFT. The registration for IIFT is as follows:

• Step 1: Visit the IIFT website.
• Step 2: The candidate would be directed to the homepage. Click on the “Admissions” tab.
• Step 3: Click on the link for registration to create an account for IIFT.
• Step 4: After reading the instructions regarding the IIFT application, click on “Proceed.”
• Step 5: Fill in the personal and contact details required and ensure no error while filling out the registration form.
• Step 6: Enter a strong password and also a security question for better protection of the account.
• Step 7: Enter the security pin and click on “Submit.”
• Step 8: The IIFT account is now registered.

IIFT Selection Process

Once the results are announced for the IIFT entrance exam, the cut-off would be announced. Candidates who have cleared the examination can move on to the next stage of admissions, the selection process.

• The selection process for IIFT consists of 3 rounds: a written ability test, a group discussion, and a personal interview.
• Before initiating the selection process, the candidates are asked to fill out a form that includes their details, educational qualifications, work experience details, extra-curricular activities, and a paragraph of not more than 100 words on their career focus and managerial traits.
• The written ability test is a simple round where the candidates are provided with a passage or asked to write an essay on a given topic. They would be allotted 20 minutes to answer the questions or write the essay.
• The word limit for the essay should not be more than 300 words. This round helps in analyzing the candidate’s writing skills.
• The second round for admissions into IIFT is the group discussion. The candidates would be divided into different groups, and they would be given a topic to discuss.
• The topics provided are mainly related to current affairs or anything trending in the business world. The candidates can prepare themselves for group discussions by bringing awareness with the help of newspapers and articles.
• The group discussion tests the communicative skills of the candidate. Both of these rounds have a weightage of 15% for the selection process.
• The last round of the IIFT selection process is the personal interview, where the candidates are evaluated based on their knowledge and communicative skills.
• The personal interview has a weightage of 20% for the selection process.
